Rune Priest Jbickb
Greetings Packmates, Just wrapped up my conversion of some Bladeguard because tge ones out of the box weren't wolf enough for me. I used Indomitus Assault Intercessors as the base for 5 of them and Haldor Icepelt as the 6th. I used the Bladeguard Veteran heads (because that's the only part of the original ones I liked for wolves). The sheilds and axes are from "The Custom Bit ". And the pelts are from Sheild Wolf. What do you all think? More pics in the gallery didn't want to flood the thread with pictures. Tokugawa
The shields are pretty "wolf style". You may need some decorative parts on top of backpack to make them more "BGV" feel. Rune Priest Jbickb
Yeah I am debating that. The iron halos on the regular BGVs don't feel all that wolfy to me, but the totems from the greyhunter box are too big for a replacement, so I decided to forgo anything there, any suggestions on what I might put in their place? Tokugawa
Are there any kits have spare wolf skull bits? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/375006-bladeguard-conversion/#findComment-5846556 Share on other sites
Rune Priest Jbickb
There are dangly ones in several boxes, but I can't think of any for mounting vertical. The backpacks that have that are molded with the skull up there already. Bryan Blaire
These are fantastic Jbickb! They very much look the Wolf Guard BGV part, so much better than the stock models. The only thing I can think of (and part of my plans to do similar for my WG BGV) would be to use the Wulfen power plant toppers (or the whole power plants). HvitrValdyr
The icons from the upgrade sprues are smaller than those in the regular wolf pack box. I used some of them for my blade guard conversions. You may be able to find them from bits sellers. Rune Priest Jbickb
I was thinking the one before this one (oop), but thats great because this one is much more accessible. Looks like wulfen ones are a bit large for this but these are perfect. And there is even 2 styles per sprue so that's one type for each pack. Kassill
The look excellent so far. I disagree on needing back pieces, but it does help distinguish them so if that helps for board presence/identification etc, then go for it. I personally removed the halos and wolf'd them up in other areas. I really like your axes and shields though!
