rykirk
I have picked up the new core book but admittedly haven't messed around with it too much yet. My history with GW games is mostly playing the skirmish stuff going back to Necromunda, Gorkamorka, Mordheim, Space Hulk. Don't really have a local scene (rural) and just play with my brother, brother in law, and a friend or two. No way anyone is getting a 2000 point+ army off the ground. I really enjoyed some Heresy fan mods for Shadow War Armageddon and the Victory is Vengeance and ZM/Blood in the Void stuff in the past. Does it seem like the new edition will be conducive to this kind of gaming, or likely that GW will publish something like the above game modes in future supplements? GodEmperorOfMankind
They published updated ZM rules in last months white dwarf to go along with the release. Admittedly they were get you by ZM rules, I fully expect to see blood in the void etc come back with a later supplement. If you have the old rules the scenarios and setup for ZM will be very similar, use them and the ZM rules in the WD and happy playing sub 1k points! Noserenda
I suspect Fans will make those supplements looooong before FW does, things seem a lot more regimented these days at the studios. But ill bet 30k Killteam2 is already done and the more native versions being worked on. GodEmperorOfMankind
Yes for sure! Just look at how quickly they got the missing units out before GW, and arguably did a better job. 30k kill team was an amazing piece of work, v2 I'm sure will be just as good Noserenda 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/375087-does-the-new-edition-seem-suitable-for-skirmish-games/#findComment-5847773 Share on other sites
rykirk
That sounds great, I haven't checked out Kill Team v2 but my understanding is its a totally different game now, more like War Cry or Underworlds with the turn/game structure? I have to admit I'm a bit lazy for learning new stuff and prefer the traditional Warhammer statline and mechanics, but will definitely check out whatever fan supplements drop. Would love to see an official or fan Victory is Vengeance, tho I guess in the meantime there's no reason the old version shouldn't work with the new rules with a little tinkering. Sherrypie
Kill Team '21 is wholly different from the previous game. The current game being miles better and a solid skirmish game is great. As for fan works, Ossified Mods have already published a good amount of Heresy specific Kill Team lists, so check those out if you want more HH flavour in small games. lansalt and GodEmperorOfMankind 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/375087-does-the-new-edition-seem-suitable-for-skirmish-games/#findComment-5848216 Share on other sites

This guy's Heresy Space Hulk mod also looks incredible. Petitioner's City
Decurion from the mournival folks is also worth looking at - worked very well in 1st edition, so a wee bit of translating to 2nd N1SB 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/375087-does-the-new-edition-seem-suitable-for-skirmish-games/#findComment-5848328 Share on other sites
rykirk
The Decurion mode looks great, like a simple version of Tactical Strike/ViV Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/375087-does-the-new-edition-seem-suitable-for-skirmish-games/#findComment-5848951 Share on other sites
Canadian_F_H
I have already considered get by rules for a HH Killteam type of game. Basically just take units by paying for them as if they were only the additional member options of squads, treat them as individual units, any rules from a model like an apothecary apply to models within coherency of that model. But shooting also can apply to groups of models on a "target a model but can also inflict wounds on models that are in coherency range of the targeted model" Anyways, that was the initial idea. There are other ideas but eventually it becomes too long for a forum post to be at all reasonable. From what I gather it’s a group of 30K enthusiasts. I came across the Centurion rule set a few years ago but never found a website that had other Mournival rules. Is there a website for all of the Mournival rules? Is Mournival a Facebook group?
