Astartes Consul
A quick rules query that may be something very basic I'm missing while flicking through the 2.0 book(s) but... Can a character in one type of Terminator armour join a unit in another type? I'm sure this used to be against the rule, bit I can't see anything against it in the new edition. This is largely born out of me wanting to use the Indomitus Terminators from the Legacies PDF with a character attached, but thought it might be a useful clarification for anyone completely new to the game as well. Slips
There is nothing preventing you from slapping a Tartaros TDA IC into a Cataphractii unit but, you'd have to look at all the various sub-types such as Heavy to make sure they would still be able to benefit from it. It also wasnt a rule in 1.0; you just couldnt have a unit where you were allowed to choose which TDA they wore (such as Phoenix Guard before they lost the ability to do so) have mixed suits in the same unit. So while its possible, it might be counter-productive. An example of this is the Vigilator not having the Skirmish sub-type and if you slap him onto a unit of, say, Recon Marine who do, as long as hes part of the unit, they cannot make use of the 3" coherency and +1 to cover saves.
