As the title suggests, looking for some fluffy and semi-viable character/HQ ideas. I'll go first :D

Sammy "the slasher": Captain with Jump Pack

  • The Ebonclaws (1CP)
  • Master of the Tri-fold Path plus Imperium's sword, Master of Vigilance (2CP)
  • Run as successor with WWOR and either HFB or BH

On the charge 8 attacks, S5, AP-3, DD3, 6s to hit = 1 mortal wound + additional hit, natively re-roll his own charges (+1 with chapter has HFB tactic). Against T8 characters still wounding on 4s with re-rolls. Unit crunch suggests:

  1. He'll kill a MEQ squad by himself most of the time
  2. He'll take down 3 terminators by himself
  3. Against a character Knight he'll do 8 wounds
  4. Against morty he'll do 4 wounds

Fluff wise, I can see Sammy leading a pick pack of twin lightning claw VGVs against elites and heavy infantry, or using him as a solo-missile against weaker characters.

4 vs morty feels optimistic, I hade basically that build on my night lord lord though I had more attacks in leu of the mortals gotta say it hurt most things it charged but i also had access to a cheap +1 to wound.

Apparently, according to unit crunch, that's the result from 10,000 simulations:

Final damage 4

Expected result* 4
Chance of 4 or better 60.2%
Chance of slaying defender 0%
