INKS
I am putting together a kill team from the new rules. I know how the Sargent is going to look. For the assault intercessors would they have yellow helms? The regular bolter intercessors would have regular red helms? can't anyone make this clear for me? Majkhel
That's right: yellow helmets for Assault Intercessors, red for regular ones. Here's a SS from the latest codex supplement depicting this: Gamiel and INKS 2 Back to top

Majkhel
If you ever wanted to check other units' Battlefield roles (and helmet colors by extension) for Kill Team here are types of units that fall under each battlefield role based on SM Codexes from 8th and 9th: Battleline: - Intercessor squads - Tactical squads - Infiltrator squads - Heavy Intercessor squads Close Support: - Reiver squads - Incursor squads - Inceptor squads - Assault squads - Centurion Assault squads - Biker squads - Attack Bikes - Land Speeders - Assault Intercessor squads - Outrider squads Fire Support: - Hellblaster squads - Eliminator squads - Aggressors squads - Suppressor squads - Devastator squads - Centurion Devastator squads - Eradicator squads Veteran squads: - Terminator squads - Vanguard Veteran squads - Sternguard Veteran squads - Bladeguard Veteran squads - Company Veteran squads - Veteran Intercessor squads Edited August 19, 2022 by Majkhel UnkyHamHam 1 Back to top
INKS
Oh wow, this is extremely helpful. Thanks. I'll have to print this out and save it. I like that there are difficult colored helmets for certain unit types and I want to stick to that. I am also going to do the knee pad but not sure which number yet for mine. Would Rapier Battery crew be Fire Support? I know it's not kill team related, just curious. Majkhel 1 Back to top
sitnam
As I might likely choose Flesh Tearers for the new rules, I was wondering so they follow these same rules for heraldry?

Rapier Carriers being a Heavy choice (and Heavy being rather consistently assigned to Fire Support) could definitely have their crew's helmets painted blue. However Rapiers are also Vehicles and with those we have some leniency I believe. Discussions on the crew helmets come and go and we had a great one on this thread about Land Speeder crew helmets: 7 hours ago, sitnam said: As I might likely choose Flesh Tearers for the new rules, I was wondering so they follow these same rules for heraldry? Flesh Tearers follow a Codex Astartes designations for Battlefield Role showing those with Arrow, Lightning, Cross, Explosion/Schevron, Skull ( ) markings typical for Codex-compliant chapters. They also show squad designation with a numeral on the kneepad instead of symbols that BAs use. The only derogation from the Codex is showing Company by a colored blood-drop embossed upon the Battlefield role marking. So they do not have need for differently-colored helmets to additionally show Battlefield role and usually keep them black. Which doesn't need to stop you in case you want to represent something very specific for a given battle-brother. For example we have no official artwork for FT Lieutenants or Veterans aside from Terminators. Codex Astartes describes different color helmets for Veterans in regular battle-plates, Sergeants, Veteran Sergeants (we have that for 9th edition btw!). While we could definitely argue that FTs have a natural contempt for any form of fancy ornamentation, there's nothing really to stop you from personalization that suits your taste. EDIT: For a lovely bit of RT lore, Flesh Tearers used to have a yellow stripe on their helmets Spoiler Edited August 19, 2022 by Majkhel
