ThePenitentOne
I know that free AoS rules have been up for awhile, just like 40k rules, and I do have a daemon army for 40k. I've always thought about trying out my daemons in AoS... but I usually play in-house, with opponents making armies from my collection, and I don't have forces to oppose them. Enter free rules for Warcry, and all of the sudden, one AoS box provides an opponent. So it's a matter of looking for AoS forces that fit with 40K to maximize the value. So that Witch Hunter Warcry team? Yeah, those guys are a great set of Hereticus Acolytes. I'd add the AoS father/ daughter Witch Hunter team to round out the retinue. I could use it with Greyfax; I've already got plans for Karamazov. I also have some Tzaangors from Hexfire, and I've got a Skaven Rat Ogre box. Hedonites of Slaanesh would certainly find their way into my 40k games. And of course, that wide release Cursed City is coming- that purchase makes WAY more sense with free War Cry rules. Good Witch Hunter material in that box too- plus an excellent Rogue Trader and a few Psyker/ Sorceror types. Valkyrion
I'm not entirely sure what the question is, I have to be honest. But given as you're from Canadia, 'all of the sudden' is an americanism not welcome in these here british parts - it's all of A sudden'. (this is a joke, not meant to be offensive in any way, shape, or form, but by having to type this caveat it no longer becomes a joke but a statement, so it's no longer funny either. go figure.) But anyway, I'm not totally sure on the question being asked, but all of the warcry guys make really good chaos cultist warbands. There's one with snakes which is ideal for an on-the-nose alpha legion, the guys with the crow motifs could be nightlords maybe, corpse grinders (that may be necromunda?) are perfect khorne cultists and so on, Cypher lords don't scream Tzeentch but the could well pass for it, and so on. If I was doing a 3rd edition Alpha Legion army, for instance, I'd use the snakey warcry dudes as my cultists without doubt. Kenzaburo
To be honest, I've only ever gone the other way. I used one of the old witchhunter minis (dude with the witch hunter hat, flamer pistol and power sword) and turned him into my witch hunter leader for Mordheim. I'd agree with Valkyrion, you can grab all kinds of AoS minis for low tech level cultists. And some are using Ironjawz bosses for their Ork warbosses, but beyond that I've never seen thaaaat much potential. I've never really dabbled in Warcry or AoS though, so most of my line-blurring experience is from the WHFB days. :) Petitioner's City 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/375568-free-rules-and-blurring-the-lines-between-games/#findComment-5858510 Share on other sites
Petitioner's City
Lumineth could make interesting eldar, dark elves and daughters already work well with drukhari, empire (and cities) always was a bastion of bits for inq28 and inquisitors in 40k, and I'm sure dwarves and duardin will really crossover with necromunda squats and now leagues, etc. There is a lot you can do, especially with skirmish conversions as people posted above - Carl Johnston posts an "every model is a necromunda model" meme on his Instagram, where he photoshops new fantasy models into necromunda ones. It really shows how much crossover there is. https://instagram.com/carl_r_johnston?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/everymodelsanecromundamodel/?hl=en Hope this helps :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/375568-free-rules-and-blurring-the-lines-between-games/#findComment-5860222 Share on other sites
