Inquisitor_Lensoven
on their face, most gravis units, seem very much the opposite of how blood angels prefer to operate. slow, shooting focused by and large. so lets discuss how the current gravis units fit into the blood angels method of warfare. inceptors are easy and obvious being the only (so far) gravis jump unit. they fly in, do some pew pews and move on. aggressors are a bit harder, and i've had this argument before with others, but i still maintain, they are a close support unit, rather than a fire support unit. their shooting is medium range at best, they get a respectable number of attacks in melee per model, the same as bladeguard get in fact, and those big fists pulp just about everything. heavy intercessors are a bit harder. granted BA are a *codex compliant chapter, so it's not like they absolutely hate shooting from range, its just not the preferred method of warfare for the chapter....but covering fire is always useful for helping get your melee units close. eradicators...the hardest to place and i'm at a loss for the most part tbh what do the rest of you think? Blindhamster
I’d say it all fits just fine, they’re good at melee but they’re still space marines. They still use their guns afterall Majkhel 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/375599-the-sanguine-attribute-of-gravis-units/#findComment-5859003 Share on other sites
Cleon
The Heavy intercessors gravis armour, like Terminator suits before it allow a small number of battle brothers to hold the line against even greater numbers, what could be more Blood Angel than that? While yes, they prefer the furious (preferably airborne) assault, but the Chapter's (and before that the Legion's) history is full of times when massively outnumbered forces of Blood Angels held the line and would not allow the enemy through, from the Siege of the Palace to the defense of Baal there is an element of the Spartans to the Blood Angels as well. Majkhel
I also agree Gravis works just fine. Adding for Eradicators: Meltas - BA love them to the point they even have pocket chibi-versions of them And with current playstyle, Eradicators often arrive from Reserves, so just like Terminators do (also very iconic for BA). Karhedron
Inceptors are the most thematic as mentioned but Heavy Intercessors with the Assault 3 bolters are good and can make good use of the +1" Advance portion of our trait. Aggressors also have Assault weapons and so can benefit from the +1" Advance although that means they won't be able to charge.
