Friend of mine is the crafty type and wants to put together something for her husband (foul Necron lord that he is...) to help him track his builds and how he painted them. She wants it to be a physical item (like a binder or some such) rather than something in an App.

Sent me a picture of "something like this" but that she can add a photo of the miniature and the list of paints and the like.

Does anyone have an idea of a template she might use? Or a link to one? Or something along those lines that could be printed out (even something from an app)?

I'm afraid I've not seen anything like that in my travels across the internet.

I don't know if it's any help or not (perhaps not ), but I just take a page in a wire-bound notebook for each part of a model (e.g. power armour soft joints) and write out the recipe/method by hand - that means that it's recorded, and writing it out by hand helps reinforce it into memory (odd but true). They could simply take the first page in the notebook for the overall summary (paint list), and glue a printed picture of a finished model in scrap-book style? Not really what you were asking for, but seems to accomplish the same goal..?

Bloody good idea that... Sure I have a notebook somewhere.

OP, could be worth knocking up a template with a space for a photo of the finished squad, then just print out and add to a binder? Id have a go myself but me and computers dont get on too well, even microsoft paint confuses me.

@NovemberIXHaving used a lot of printed or photocopied character sheets for RPGs, that mock-up hits a couple of my recurring irritants.

1. Never have a grey background on an area to write in.

2. Pre-printing lines (like you have for the parts list) is constricting rather than helpful. I can adjust my writing to fit an empty box much more easily.

@Cactus Ironic you say that, I had already started removing the grey boxes so I could just print from my plotter. Sadly I am one of those types that needs lines, but a couple unlined variants for those with neater handwriting should be a bit more useful.
