Here's some progress on the warhound

 

Right now I'm just doing the right side til I'm satisfied with the layout of the different metallics.

Small update, but I think I'm satisfied with my metallics layout on the right side, so ill be copying it over to the left.

Once all the brass and gold is done, I'm going to go in with a bright silver and paint the inner cylinders for the hydraulics.

He is just needing a transfer and varnish, but I am really happy with the result.

I failed to get the result I wanted with the purple to orange fade when I tried blending the colours together. This time I gave the airbrush another go and then tidied up and highlighted the old fashioned way. Sometimes the airbrush wanted to help me, today it decided to, much to my relief. I've got some gold to go and then I'll have a bit of a think about the basing.

I have been struggling with mental health issues in the past. Assembling and painting my armies has helped me though some very rough patches.

Even now, after a stressful day at work, I at least try to fit some painting time in. Painting and listening to audio dramas and books is my happy place.

So I would like to participate-

should be enough time.

I would just need help with the Instagram side of things because I really do not want another social media account.....

I am going to do Ironhand Straken and paint him along the lines of my previous attempts at camouflage (Ripper Jackson as an example)

Morning all, now we've come to the point where just his arms need painting. Not bad, not bad.

Have a few little touch ups to do, then doing some washing. I plan on adding a camp pattern, keeping it all green.

Is it just me, or have modern GW kits got a lot more complicated with more bits? Taken me ages to finish clipping, assembling and cleaning up the Octarius Kommandos kit, even with minimal kit bashing. Still, all done and primed now ready for painting, including a couple of sneaky extras!

Folks who were relying on me for posting their finished works on instagram, I’m really sorry but I need to retract my offer. Seriously seriously sorry for letting you down, just dealing with tons of real life stuff right now and rapidly cutting things out that I don’t have time for. Impending birth of our second little girl is imminent - any day now, and I’m checking things so sporadically I wouldn’t want to just up and disappear without having honored my commitment.

If someone else could please step up and help out, I would deeply appreciate it.

Fella, that’s called life. No need for apologizing for life. If anybody understands life events, it is me. Tend to the family and no worries here! Family is number one priority…aaaaaand 40k is a close second, lol!

I am happy to declare that my contribution to the Mental Health Challenge finished.

 

 

 

 

Thus has been fun and it’s a welcome change to have been able to finish a project for a change.

If anybody has the capacity/ inclination to contribute this to the actual event on instagram, They will have my gratitude.

If not - don’t sweat it and certainly please do not stress over it. I enjoyed painting this and it would be totally off the intended idea to have this cause anyone any problem after all!
