Looking at the weapon stats for the artillery, I like the Str 10 of the Arquitor but it's quite a few more points, and a foot less in range.  The Rending 4+ for the Scorpius when it doesn't move seems pretty awesome, so I'm leaning Scorpiuses...Scorpii?  But anyone try out either one and find the Arquitor better for any reason besides Str 10?

I've got some cool bits to slap together a couple of Scorpius tanks or Arquitors.  A little on the fence about which to build.  I might be able to magnetize....but the old Vengeance Battery Cannon turrets I would use for the Arquitors would also be useable to make into Sabre Tanks (with some fancy converted ends to be the neutron blasters), and then I couldn't magnetize the artillery tanks to go back and forth from the Sabres.

I'd lean towards Scorpius because its easier to hide, you don't want to move it, it has a longer range and S8 might as well be S10 against most infantry targets anyway.

Bombard if you are facing plenty of T5 or vehicles that are going to come towards you.

As an aside, the three tanks you mentioned all have considerably different physical profiles so if you're kitbashing onto a rhino chassis you'd be much safer going with Scorpiusesusses.

Against marines, it's the scorpius. Neither tank can explode vehicles, so the best you can hope for  is a hull point per hit. Arquitor would be desirable if your opponent spam a bunch of proteus speeders, but otherwise you're hoping to roll 6s instead of 4s for more points.

Against mechanicum and the inevitable custodes and daemons? The arquitor. Thallax, ursurax and myrmidons really don't like their wound pool getting ignored, and the first two lose both armour saves and feel no pain. Vorax can get one shot from a high roll.

I agree with Valkyrion here. Arquitors use a (backwards) Sicaran chassis so they're larger than the Scorpius/Rhino/Sabre

While the side profile is a little different because of the angled treads at the front, Sabre tanks are the same size as Rhinos and in lore were built from a modified Rhino STC.

Of course the Scorpiusesussesai have the same Rhino chassis.

Thank you very much for the model info and pictures!  I'll make Scorpii from the turrets and just glue them to cheap scrappy rhinos (which I found on eBay already), and my big treads and turrets will be Sabres.

One is mostly assembled aside from a searchlight and a few other bits to round it out.  Ended up being a bit taller than my Rhino, but just as wide and pretty much the same length including the engine bits on the back.  Need to add a searclight, maybe a couple magnetized rockets, and a small pilot something-or-other on the left tread top.  I might chop off and magnetize the barrel too.  Volkite cannon, hull-mounted volkite, plus pintle combi-volkite, plus rockets = a lotta dakka.  But I still like the big zaps of the neutron blaster and multi-melta for now.
