First time I noticed this change was in the Knives in the Dark Kill Team competition, and the banner advert was Join a Kill Team.

Lol aside, having it look like part of the signature (even if it is not technically) could potentially lead to people mistakenly assuming that the banner/add/link was associated with the first poster in a thread (or page).

Just wanted to say Thank you for letting us know throughout and testing things out for a just in case we need it basis. Much nice then to just have adverts sprung on us one day because funds are low.

Some of you may have seen the "Invictus!" image appearing at the top of the sidebar. This is (a) a continuation of the testing of advertisements, and (b) another piece of artwork created by our site founder, BLOODSAINT.

 

The testing at this point is to see where a sidebar advertisement appears (at the top of the sidebar, without ability to move it further down) and to experiment with different dimensions. You'll see this image change over the next week or two. The width of the image is fixed, so I'm just playing around with heights now.

 

We still don't plan to implement advertising (though we have received requests from companies) unless we determine that our community is unable to sustain the site's financial needs by donating. Again, I'll provide more information on our costs later. We aren't in danger of the site shutting down or anything, so there's no need to be concerned.
