Inquisitor_Lensoven
So we know the BA engage in acts of artistry, and I was wondering if that extends to the art cooking? have there been any references to the sons of sanguinius having any culinary talents or interests? Jolemai
iirc, a feast was described in Devastation of Baal prior to the defense once the Chapters were assembled.
Spagunk
They prefer their food RAW and WRIGGLING!!! So far, I have not read anything. Wine might be something they dabble in (blood wine, of course ) but I don't remember seeing anything flat out that stated it was something Marines worked on. I can't imagine they wouldn't be involved with blood wine creation though since it too is a form of art. 3 minutes ago, Jolemai said: iirc, a feast was described in Devastation of Baal prior to the defense once the Chapters were assembled. I don't remember if the food was performed by Angels or their thralls. I may have to re-read to be certain. Xenith
Their artistry tends to be more visual/aesthetic like painting, sculpting, embrodery etc as opposed to transient things - I've never seen any mention of a space marine cooking, or having an interest in it. Even references to them eating are few and far between - as genhanced supersoldiers, they probably need tens of thousands of calories a day due to their metalbolic rate, and eating in the traditional sense would take too long. Any sit down meals they have are more likely to be ritual in nature.
Sugarlessllama
If I recall correctly, in Devastation of Baal, it is mentioned that Dante made Blood Wine. However, the Imperium has a very caste based system for their society. So I don't think there would be very many astartes that would take up a task that would likely be seen below their station. While cooking can be an art, it would likely be more associated with serfdom than music, literature, or the visual arts.
