Vogon
I have recently got myself a HH Scale Reaver Titan and am asking for some advice. I’m planning on pinning most of the joints and magnetising the arms but what glue do you good people recommend for sticking it together? I’m assuming bog standard superglue is not going to make the grade for such a heavy model and I’ve seen some videos talk about epoxy or resin. I’m based in the UK so any brands that are available here would be best. Is Gorilla Glue any good for this sort of thing? Grotsmasha
Head on over to Midwinter Minis on YouTube, and watch Guys assemble his Warlord, everything he does there will translate to the Reaver. Pinning, glues, everything Firedrake Cordova and Vogon 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/376150-building-a-titan/#findComment-5874887 Share on other sites
Firedrake Cordova
I've never used Gorilla Glue, but the slow-curing Araldite epoxy glue is very strong. I know it's not the same thing, but I once dropped a standard bearer from the old skeleton warrior kit (plastic with a metal banner arm) down the stairs (from top right to bottom) - the plastic-metal join that was glued with Araldite held, but the plastic-on-plastic waist joint that was glued with polystyrene cement didn't. Sword Brother Adelard
JB Weld appears popular with the peeps who build the big resin models. Also, have a gander at the back catalogue of The Independent Characters, there's an infamous episode where they went to see some guy who was going to teach them how to build FW models, and he was insane! He went way further than they could have possibly anticipated with his weird tricks, they went back to the topic in a later episode which was a bit more standard hobbyist friendly, but it's still good knowledge.
