Inquisitor_Lensoven
Just wondering how everyone would feel about rules that prevent/block rerolls. a stealth rule that prevents rerolling hits a durability that prevents rerolling to wound lethality rule that prevents rerolling saves. Halandaar
There are already a few rules like this in the game; for example Salamanders and Order of the Valourous Heart both don't allow wound rolls against them to be re-rolled. Xenith
They're already in the game and another symptom of rules bloat. Sallies/iron Warriors trait Harlequins one Chaos Knight ability Custodes strat. Special Officer Doofy
Instead of trying to add more rules and counter to rules, I'd be down for just less rerolls in general to warrant less counters for them. The few hard adjustments would be something like Guilliman. It's hard to give rules for something like being an amazing general. Guilliman should not be swinging like Hulking Bloodthirster Angron or Giant Grim Reaper Mortarion, but he should still have a "primarch" impact on the table, if that makes sense. Xenith
Yea, considering standard captain grade tactics and strategy allows rerolls of one, and a commander saying 'shoot better' is a standard reroll, guillimans strategic genius should outdo both. Its funny because abaddon is better than all of them atm, except maybe angron since we havent seen his rules yet. Halandaar
Agreed; rules that exist simply to counter other rules that are too prevalent is basically the perfect definition of bloat. Sugarlessllama
I wouldn't mind reducing strats to the base three in the core rules, and re-rolls being restricted to HQ auras. Chapter tactics and similar abilities shouldn't grant re-rolls but do stuff like "[Insert unit] gain ObSec" or "[Insert unit] gains deep strike", etc. and having fewer unique unit abilities. I think baking special abilities into the mini-faction and the HQs only would really streamline things.
