Hey folks, I don't have a ton of time to go into detail but I was very happy to see a fellow Canadian do well with the BT's at a GT.

 

Fields of Damnation: 44 players, 5-1 record.

 

I hear he is a BnC member, if so maybe he can shed some light on matchups....

I watched the interview IN did with him last night. Was a little miffed the list wasnt shown in the video, but there was a lot of good stuff said that i had never thought about (at least consiously?) Was definitely worth the hour watch while i reorganized my paints, haha!

His list is similar to mine to a degree… but there is some divergence as well. The interview I found to be quite informative. Really liking the cents.

 

Does anyone know if it’s easier to assemble asscents compared to devcents ?

Goonhammer provided some details of the final game. Facing sisters on a map without center objective(which disabled oath) is just too tough. Salute to him!

Oh i saw the list in description section of the video. I was more talking about it being in the video itself. I do know how to look around.

Yes, it was a great video as well. He has a refreshing way of approaching competitive play with a more positive vibe. Kind of like 'What can I do with the units/rules I have.' As opposed to just feeling like there's nothing you can do with Marines right now. I think that's how you come out of a tournament doing well with units like Assault Marines.

 

In all honesty I've been away from first born, but that's a great angle he was using with them.

 

I do love the use of Assault Centurions. I was using them with White Scars and they had a good angle there, but he found a way with BT's using Devout Push every turn. (He mentions assigning 1 CP a turn for Devout Push).  I've played against a Blood Angel friend who started using 5-6 of them, and they are brutal to get rid of with an Apothecary as well. I faced this first hand for the first time and I'd had friends tell me how brutal it can be facing the Centurions, but that was my first time facing them myself in the past.... 6 or so months.

 

I also like that he came up with some good alternative ideas. 

 

But yea, I can't wait for that Dataslate rebalance. Trying not to get my hopes up here, but we are probably just a week or two away now!

Its nice to see and hear - yes. But its still an uphill battle and the most important thing: is it fun to you? I dont want to play a shooty BT army as I dont want to play a army which dont want to attack (what should the most important theme for a black templar army - suffer not the unclean and accept any challenge!!!!!!!!!!!) 

And against some Chaos armies its far better to steal objectives with obsec units because "fight on death" makes more damage more to you as to your opponent because CSM codex is far better in close combat. 

 

At least thats my biggest problem with codex supplement BT.
