Can you have 2 characters join a unit?

Just checking something I've been hearing alot

Can an apoc join a unit with a tech marine for example or another character? 

Was it a max of one IC or 2 or more that can join a unit

You can join a Techmarine and an Apothecary to a unit and a smany ICs as you like

Apocs and Techmarines can only be assigned to units which do not include an Independent Charakter. Which happens before the Deployment Phase.

So they cannot, for example, be assigned to a CommandSquad (pre Errata), or units consisting of models in Terminator armor, etc....

That being said - as previously mentioned by @Bung, there's nothing, that prohibits u from assigning an Apoc AND a Techmarine to the same squad and let Independent Charakter(s) join the unit in the Deployment Phase. =]

Exactly. 

The rule only prevents them from joining retinues which are bought as such. Sone units like Deathshroud can be bought as regular unit or as retinue so it is important to point that specifically out.
