Canadian_F_H
Just planning things out. I was wondering if anyone can verify if the new interior wall pieces for Killteam are compatible with the Zone Mortalis Tiles from Necromunda. My searches are turning up more info between the 2 wall systems, not much on compatibility with the tiles. Thanks. Bryan Blaire
What are you considering compatible, C_F_H? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/376323-new-kt-into-the-dark-walls-compatible-with-zm-tiles/#findComment-5878039 Share on other sites
Canadian_F_H
Well. Its my understanding that the ZM walls and columns line up with the contours of the ZM tiles. Which would be both structurally and aesthetically important. I wonder if anyone has tried to place any of the new KT walls onto the ZM tiles to see if they "fit" into any of the shapes. I was thinking of getting ZM tiles and walls eventually, but i have some of the new KT stuff already, and wondered if it would fit to the ZM tiles, which might lead me to ordering some tiles sooner rather than later. Arkhanist
The new 'into the dark' walls are not compatible size-wise with with zone mortalis walls, so they won't fit into spaces intended for ZM walls & columns. "Compared to its closest analog, the Zone Mortalis walls, the ItD walls are about one millimeter taller. An assembled Zone Mortalis wall of 2 columns and one long wall, are ten millimeters shorter than a double wall section. The columns are roughly one inch square, 28mm x25mm. The wall sections are about 72mm between the columns and only 5.5mm thick. This stuff will take up MUCH less space on a table than Zone Mortalis though, so more area for your operatives to run around." Height wise, the ItD walls are 6cm, while the zone mortalis are 5.75cm. However, if you flip the ZM top cap, two stacked elements are both 12cm, which is the only direct compatibility. Width wise ItD are much thinner, and the ItD walls+columns are not even close to the same length as ZM or a multiple. So you could place them on ZM boards stylistically, but they're not going to line up with the squares I'm afraid. They've aimed for sizing equivalent to Sector Mechanicus and Sector Imperialis, not ZM. Canadian_F_H
Bummer. Any clue what they used for the floors and ceilings in the promo shots of the new KT stuff? Any clue what they used for the floors and ceilings in the promo shots of the new KT stuff? The ceiling looks like zone mortalis tiles to me, given the edging scallops (just a tight angle). It's possible the floor is the Into the Dark card mat with cunning lighting, but given that blue light from the left side *seems* to be catching the edges of real recesses (just left of sword guy), I believe it's an as-yet unreleased plastic tile version of the ItD/gallowdark flooring. Just as Necromunda: Underhive initially came out with the cardboard zone mortalis mat, and we did get the plastic tiles released later. Though in that case they were obviously based off the original FW resin version. Bryan Blaire
Agreed, that is definitely the original Zone Mortalis tiles (and man do I hope they keep making those) serving in ceiling duty, while the flooring looks like a plastic version of the KT Space Hulk flooring featured on the mat - they’ve got at least a portion of that type of flooring already made up in plastic, known because of the bases, so I think it’s a matter of time until they end up releasing plastic tiles for it as well.
