Does anyone have any tips for removing mold lines from plasma coils? They always run right down the middle of the coil and it's really difficult to remove them without scraping away the detail or leaving the lines between the coils. I see lots of amazingly painted models where you wouldn't know there had been a seem there at all.

Personally, I just use a blunt* surgical scalpel - it's nice and thin so it can get into the troughs between the coils, and being blunt it won't take tonnes of material off unless you're really careless. I just use it like a mould line remover - orient the blade so it's parallel to the coils, and just gently scrape over them.

* by blunt, I mean "will not cut you, even with moderate pressure being used". It's one I've been using to clean mould lines from models for years.
