Returning to GW

While I’ve been playing AT for a few years now, I stopped playing 40K when 6th edition came out.  With the release of the HH starter, I’m feeling the urge to build a small 30K force.  Thoughts on this IF list to start?

Seems alright, though you might suffer against Spartans and the like, couple of broad tips: Dreadnoughts usually benefit from a fist, you dont need to take a Rite of war, yours isnt offering you any benefits here, id probably look at giving your tactical sergeants some gear too, a blob of 15 with nothing but bolters is not going to achieve much in most games, barebones you may as well just run squads of 10 and look at maybe an assault focused squad to run with your praetor?

From your list, are you going to try and start with the AoD box?

 

As noserenda says, you current gain nothing from that rite of war, so you can always switch to a cheaper Centurian at the 1k point mark until you need a specific rite - or you can use the rite that makes HSS's into Line units for scoring? That would be one immediate improvement. 

 

The tacticals could do with some gear - namely artificer armour on the serges, and maybe a vexilla, then a melee weapon of some kind if you want them in combat. You could possibly drop one tac unit to get 15 despoilers to run with your praetor, as noserenda says.
