New codex all infantry list

I think you guys may be right. Although I still want to try it.

thinking of

creed with superior tactical training

2 castellan

command squad with finial of nematodes 1st

6 Cadian squads, half flamer half grenade launcher

6 infantry squads (ML and snipers)

3 kasrkin squads, 2 sniper, 2 volley gun

3 rattling squads

3 scion squads, 2 volley gun

3 heavy weapons teams

1980

sone questions.

1: are mortars still worth taking in a list like this, or should I cram in 9 ML and hope they don’t get picked off early

2: which doctrines would work best? I’m thinking industrial efficiency more more survivability and recon operators to get in objectives early doors

worst case I can drop hwt and make all 12 infantry units kreeg for durability

Mortars are still fine. With Take Aim you counter the indirect nerf (assuming it'll stay the same in the new dataslate) so they'll be hitting just as well as in the previous codex, except they're now S5.

And with so many low-S weapons, you probably want Born Soldiers, tbh. It makes all your guns bettter and it's the doctrine that the Kasrkin combo works best with.

Also just a correction for your Kasrkin:

They get up to 2x2 special weapons + 1 sniper.

So for example, 2 Volley, 2 Plasma, 1 Sniper.

For your Scions, they get 2x2 in 10 man squads as well, in 5 man squads they 2x1, so can take two, but they have to be different guns.

According to latest rumors you have to usw the Arks of Omen Detachment and further Detachments are free.

So at least you save CP.

But i have to agree on the general tone, Mass Infantry is dead

Our Troops are all overcosted

If you want to play Infantry only valid option are Kaskrin

Just to clarify this because it so often gets forgotten:

You ONLY have to use that detachment if you play Arks of Omen missions.

When playing any other game mode, it is completely irrelevant. Same with the Nephilim/Arks CP restrictions, they only apply to that specific mission set.

If you play anything else, like the excellent Tempest of War missions, you don't use the tournament pack stuff by default. You can, but absolutely not required.
