shrike06
Hi, I wanted to ask anyone here who had the Warhammer + service: how far back does the archive go? Does it have WD issues and supplements from the Rogue Trader era? If they did, it would certainly make me more likely to subscribe. I've attempted to collect the WDs from the past in .pdf format, but I've noticed that some are missing pages, poor scans, etc. It would be great to have a pristine source going back to when 40k started, and when my friends and I got into Fantasy Battle. lansalt
Not at all. WH+ have been adding a few selected WDs each week mostly from the 2000s onwards to recent issues, but it's far from being a full archive. They've also added a few key old classic supplements like the FW Imperial Armour books or the Gathering Storm series, but edited without the old rules not valid in current games (to not confuse newbies or something like that). It seems like a work in progress, and a full official online archive of GW publications seems like it's still in the far future, if it happens at all. RWJP
Currently, the Vault has every UK White Dwarf between April 2006 and July 2022 (they haven't included regional variations which sometimes had different content). There's no Rogue Trader era content at all. Codex: Armageddon is probably one of the oldest pieces of content on there at the moment, released in 2000. Generally GW adds two White Dwarf issues each week, and occasionally drops in an extra book. Whether GW goes back as far as RT will really depend on the technical aspects of getting printed content from before the eras of computer design converted into a suitable format for display online. White Dwarfs and any of GW's recent publications will be easy to do as they'll have appropriate digital files. Some of the really early stuff on the otherhand may not be so simple. jarms48
Just bear-in-mind they do typically cut all the rule content out of the books. Even a lot of the old conversions.
