Hello fellow Flesh Tearers (if any are still alive...)
Long time I haven't played any game. I'm trying to remove dust from my army and to give it a try again.

1) There is something which is still very unclear to me:
As Flesh Tearers, do we have to use Honoured by Arx Angelicum 1CP stratagem to equip a BA relic?
My doubt came from the wording on page 44 of Index BA:

Quote

CHAPTER RELICS
Blood Angels successor Chapters have access to Special-issue Wargear Relics (pg 53); Relics of the Angels cannot be given to a CHARACTER model from a successor Chapter (other than the Flesh Tearers) unless you use the Honoured by the Arx Angelicum Stratagem (pg 49).

--> cannot be given to a CHARACTER model from a successor Chapter (other than the Flesh Tearers)
On the other hand, the stratagem itself does not make any difference between the FT and other successor Chapters...

2) The other issue I have is with Nephilim rules and the 1CP Relic stratagem. Does that mean we have to pay for both stratagems?

If anybody knows where these can be clarified, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

PS: someone told me that Crimson Fists can take Imperial Fists relics without additional CP cost as well, but this is not valid as a "rule" in my opinion...

Welcome to the B&C.

Unfortunately, I don't have the Codex to hand, but I believe that exemption is because the FT have their own Relic, Severer, in that list. So with that in mind:

  1. If you wish to give your Warlord a non-FT Relic from Relics of the Angels instead of one a Special Issue Wargear Relic of Chapter Relic (from Codex: Space Marines), then it will cost you 1CP
  2. In Nephilim, there are no freebies. So it will cost you 2CP (1CP for the Stratagem Relic and then a further 1CP for the Stratagem Honoured by the Arc Angelicum)

To add, I'd recommend taking a look at Battlescribe if you haven't already. Once you get your head around it, it will help with the nuances like above when it comes down the list creation (Just don't take everything it says as gospel as it's not official and can have mistakes).

Thanks for your answer Jolemai.

What's weird in Battlescribe is that when you select Flesh Tearers as a successor chapter, if you only tick the 1CP Arx Angelicum box on your warlord (no relic stratagem ticked), it opens up all the BA entries. And then when you select one relic, there is no error output.
But, as far as I know, in some tricky situation like this, BS is not always 100% accurate.

I was afraid of the 1CP + 1CP tax, unfortunately it seems to be how it works.
If anybody else has got any official feedback that would be awesome ... CPs are so rare nowadays :)

From my reading:

Flesh Tearers are not prohibited from choosing any relic in the relics of the angels page, however many of them won't work due to needing the BLOOD ANGELS keyword.

As such, I think FLESH TEARERS can take Visage of death, hammer of baal and Gallians staff with no issue, along with FLESH TEARER relics however I dont think that this is what was intended.

If you want to take another one, you need to pay 1CP for Honoured by... to change the BLOOD ANGELS keyword to FLESH TEARERS. This would be in addition to the 1CP needed to select a relic in nephilim.

Thank you, so I will stick to the 1+1 CP cost for "Icon of the Angel" in FT army.
This is the way.

I was thinking about the Company Champion upgrade / Martial exemplar warlord trait, for only one CP (but jump pack is no longer allowed on him)
since he can also get the 6" reroll charge bubble + some nasty CC capabilities on top, it can be a good alternative

The jump pack option is available through Legends, which remains legal. Sadly these options are unsupported, which is why tournaments frown upon them.

If your group is fine with Legends, give your Champion a jump pack
