Do you enjoy the classic holiday film Home Alone, but wish it involved more dismembered limbs? Do you think Macaulay Culkin’s cool, but a herd of Grots is even cooler? Do you wish Joe Pesci had mouthed more imprecations in the name of the dark gods? Then Da Gobbo’s Demise might be for you.

This is a fun novella with a strong sense of humor and some good commentary on the nature of power dynamics and the potential rewards of cooperation. It’s definitely focused on the comedy first, and Flowers is funny enough to make that work. Brooks is still the king of Ork dialogue, and Crowley the master of Ork philosophy/culture/mindset, but fans of their novels will likely enjoy this.

Finally the book is dedicated ‘For Karl and Groucho’, which I absolutely love.

I wasn’t sure anyone would spot that…

Glad you enjoyed it. :)
