So after looking through options I decided I will attempt to convert an Enginseer for my 7th Rhûnish Dragoons. Starting point is an old captain who is a little worse for wear and AdMech leftover bits.

After trying a few bits to see what could work I found the backpack and servo arm of a Datasmith, and that seemed the easier way forward. I did toy with a smaller back pack and just adding the servo arm, but it never quite sat right while blue-taking it together.

Start:

Love it!!! Did you use contrast paint on the flesh?

One day he may learn the number 6 and upgrade to a real guitar.  The fact GW gave it 5 strings really bugs me lol.

Thanks! The flesh is layered up using AK Olive Green as the midtone. And yeah, the 5 strings thing is a bit goofy but they did a really good job on the tuning machines so I think that makes up for it

Cheers, I keep hearing good things about AK products, just need to actually take the plunge. As for the guitar, yeah thats pretty well done actually so it does make up for it, it only wrinkles my brain as Im a guitarist. Now I know how people who have served as tankers feel when they see a new tank kit that wouldnt work in reality.

++EDIT++

Just had a good look at the guitar, the fact it has the toggle switch for the pickups, volume knob, locking nut on the neck and a cable jack, realistic bridge and actual screws holding the pickups in... Damn thats attention to detail, that Orks guitar is made to a higher standard than most Imperial tech.

Mine is finished painted, just need to find my super glue and put him together.

Edit: Can't find my superglue, and I'm out in the sticks, so this will be what I have to have for now

For the purposes of the Challenge, I'll accept a pic of it stuck together with blu-tac/poster putty as a full completion

Excuse the washed out photo.  And damned the base rim looks patchy compares to real life.  I may go patch that up.  But there they are in all their marathon painting glory.

I have picked the wrong model for tomorrow... I will fail regardless lol.

Well I have no chance of finishing it today... Yesterday just got away from me.

I finished 2 shoulder pads and shin plates.

I blame @Grotsmasha for forcing me to paint an Apothecary... Joking aside I barely got 1 hour painting.

Plus side it was for 12 months of Hobby too so I have some days to go.

Here we are then. Pardon the pin in the foot making him a bit off kilter.

Basing to be finished when the PVA dries but it's a bit of a long process but I'm calling Warsmith Barzok done, he's been working out since his first incarnation

Not going to have time to do any more on this guy, so that’s as good as it gets. I think he turned out ok as a colour scheme test. The grey metal verses silver doesn’t show up so good, but then he has more metal parts on him then the regular troopers will.

The turquoise looks very washed out in the picture even though it looks fine in person, will see in the morning if I can get a better picture.

This hasty photo makes everything look orange, especially the 'animal hide' wrappings which I'm quite pleased with in reality. No time to do the base tonight, or fancy markings on the quills, or the Fistful of Dollars inspired poncho pattern.
