Hi @Raziel-TX

I've not put any into vehicles yet, I've been playing around with making glowy lightsabres for Star Wars: Legion though.

Based on my limited experiences a few things I'd say to keep in mind are:

  1. Decide where your battery is going, this is your biggest space consideration and will need to be accessible in some way.
  2. Choose how you're going to secure the battery in place, are you going to use magnets or a clip with a switch?
  3. Pick how to make your connections, either by soldering or using a conductive paint/resin/adhesive, if you're going to be soldering at all then you'll likely want to do that away from the plastic before gluing anything in place.
  4. Plan out your wiring routes, I've done this by dry-fitting and then marking with a permanent marker on the bare plastic so I know where it's going later. As much as possible you want these to be in areas that won't be visible at all, it can help to cut a channel for them with Dremel or similar.
  5. Decide if you're going to wire everything in and then mask off the LED(s) before painting OR pre-drill the holes, paint first and then install the lights. There are risks to both approaches, you could either get paint on the LED and have to rip it out or ruing your paintwork when installing.
  6. Don't expect to get it right first time.
  7. Check your connections at every possible opportunity.
  8. Have fun.

I've never used them, and not sure how suitable they are, but I have been intrigued by wireless LED kits: https://learn.adafruit.com/wireless-leds-for-model-making

I am thinking of getting a kit just to try them out so will report back. :)
