Emurian
Hi, I have roughly around 3k Harlequins in my display case. Last week somewhat at random some dude wanted to trade one of my DnD dragons for 40 deamonettes and 15 seekers. I figured I could use these models and slap in a Keeper of Secrets to use as a counterfaction in the display case. So my thoughts where along the lines of making a layer representing the warp, or some daemonic world. Thing is, there is very little scenery fitting. The only thing I found from GW that comes close to the idea is he Shardwrack Spines scenery which by now is OOP =/. I have googled around on terms like demon / daemonic terrain / scenery etc but can't find much aside overblown skulls or tentacle eyetrees eh -.-. So thats why im turning to the forum to ask if you people have some ideas for this setup. (How do you vision the warp, or the webway, or a demon world?) My display case has layers of 24 x 48 inches so il need a couple of decent sized pieces to fill up the layer. TY for your input in advance! Firedrake Cordova
For me, it'd probably be something like Wyloch's depiction: Although, I think it could also depend upon if any area was under the influence of any one particular god? NovemberIX
Polystyrene and some acetone will melt down to some weird things, expanding foam can also give you some interesting organic shapes. Maybe search for "The cubes of Tzeentch" for an example of the textures and techniques. LameBeard
I think it’s really difficult to do “the warp” where physical laws don’t even apply - but there might be some inspiration in the Ultramarine vs Wordbearer graphic novel Macragge’s Honour (floating eyeballs the size of planets etc). Easier to do a planet which is starting to be corrupted by daemon incursion. Khorne and Nurgle easiest - you can show the earth literally trying to reject the unnatural presence. Slaanesh more difficult (whist staying PG) but could do some fusion of trees and living people in torture (inspired by Infernal Enrapturess). Could also plunder Lord of Gluttony or Fane of Slaanesh for bits to build Slaanesh themed terrain - the luxury as well as the pain that the daemons bring. cypher226
Master of Mankind describes parts of the Webway at length - warped, twisting Eldar structures and lots of literal nothing. Eldar ruins could look cool though LameBeard 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/377117-looking-for-ideas-for-warp-daemon-terrain/#findComment-5912531 Share on other sites
Xenith
I've found that fish tank ornaments are pretty weird and warpish, here's just a few of the examples I found after a quick google: Khornestar and Evil Eye 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/377117-looking-for-ideas-for-warp-daemon-terrain/#findComment-5912763 Share on other sites
