Hello all. (Had to create a new account because couldn't recover my old one)

 

I am trying to figure out how to finish out this list. It's a samurai themed chapter remake using only primarus. The captain will be the daimyo and the judiciars will be naginata warrior monks while the champion will be modeled like a sword saint. 

 

I got a decent anti horde with the intercessors and solid anti tank with 3 Valiants but I'm not sure how to round out the rest of the list. Anything sword themed is good but I'm not sure if bladeguard would be worth it. Thought about Lieutenants for auras too but I'm not sure what direction to go. Open to all suggestions.

If it's gotta be primaris I'd say blade guard are definitely worth it. They are "sword themed" and they can roll with the elite characters.

 

I would personally drop some intercessors and squeeze in 2 Redemptors as they are definitely one of the strongest primaris models. Increasing your armour saturation will also force your opponent to make decisions about hard targets. The conversion opportunities for a samurai dreadnought also tickles my fancy.

Playing around still. What about this? Lost some Intercessors ( but still got 40) but picked up the 2 LTs and a unit of blade guard along with two Gladiator reapers for more armor saturation and firepower.

Dude!  Re-read Scimitar of the Great Khan and look at the longing in your Chapter Champion’s eyes.  See them tearing up?  
 

Chapter Champion - Warlord, Scimitar of the Great Khan, Martial Exemplar, Chogorian Storm.

 

That is 7-9 attacks on Charge or 6” Heroic Intervention that re-rolls wounds…every to wound roll of “6” on the Scimitar of the Great Khan is damage 4, 5 in Assault Doctrine. Fish for those sixes, fish for those sixes.  


Run him with 3x 5-man Bladeguard a Bladeguard Ancient, the Captain, and an Apothecary if he can fit.  I wouldn’t worry about Judiciers.
 

double check your second list, you have 8x troops and 5x Heavy support.  You are allowed to run 3x elites plus 3x Character elites.

 

If you are going with Intercessors you should really use  Thunderhammers.  Modeled as Tetsubos, they haven’t earned their sword yet.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I know PF or TH would be better on the intercessors but was trying to think on how to model them. Tetsubos came to mine or odachi swords.

 

Correct me if I am wrong but in Arks of omen you can have up to 9 troops and 5 HS right? 

 

I'm looking at the rest of the suggestions and tweaking the list. Thanks for the feedback

 

How should I model the LTs and bladeguard since the shields don't really fir with my them. Just ignore them and say their invurn comes from a charm or something? Any ideas

So what stands out the most about your list is the mass of intercessor squads. It might be worth looking at other units that can fufil their purpose. For example aggressors for anti infantry fire and power fists. Or maybe some heavier stuff in hellblasters/eradicators. One of the benefits of AoO is that it allows marines to play few troops and unless you are black templars I would maximise that benefit.
