Map Templates?

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, or even if I can ask, but I'm after some empty deployment map images to use in my homemade missions.

Is there any such resource out there?

Like this, but individual and without the writing;

Do you want the specific images shown in the link (sans writing)? If so, it should be easy to either modify those images in an image editor or to use something like Word or PowerPoint to create some templates (assuming you can't find existing images). And if you have overhead views of kill zones (or whatever the 30" x 22.4" boards are called), you can use those as backgrounds for more immersion. Alternately, if you are using third party boards, you might use overhead views of those as your backgrounds.

Here's one I just whipped up for you. It uses Battlezone: Fronteris - Battlefield images. I copied and pasted two of the images with full board sides showing, edited each to just show the full boards, and combined them into a single image. I then inserted that image into a PowerPoint slide, putting it at 10" (for easy division of other shapes). Then I added a shape and adjusted it to the correct dimensions (the length equaled the length of the board image and the height was the board image height divided by four) and removed the outline. I gave it the fill color that I wanted and 75% transparency (so you can see the sexy board image) and then arranged it at the top. I then copied that image, changed it to another fill color, and arranged it at the bottom. Then I took a screenshot and saved just the board as an image, as below:

The good thing about using PowerPoint (or Word, but I prefer PowerPoint) is that you can use the board image as a master and then create a variety of different layouts and place text and other additions wherever you want them.

I'd be happy to help create more of these, including using different background images, if you'd like.

Here you go.

All you have to do is edit the maps to add any text you want, choose your background maps (you have three choices), and then copy/paste/edit in your image editor to get just the maps.

And if you have other background maps you'd prefer to use (perhaps you have some third party maps or the boards from the Gallowdark or Boarding Party expansions), you can easily create your own background master to use instead of the three maps I've included. You can even tweak the images a bit, or create your own deployment maps. Note that I used 75% transparency on the blue/red zones. Also, the central circular area in the Search and Destroy scenario would be far better with some image editing. It would take knowing which map background you want to do, copying that image, editing it to get a circle, and then superimposing that over the black circle (a transparent background will help).

Yes, that is the correct email for donating to the site. While you didn't have to do that, we appreciate the donation and support. You have been awarded the 2023 Supporter badge. :thumbsup:

If there's anything I can do to improve the file, let me know (no donation required/requested).
