Now with Desolaters confirmed, giving SW some indirect fire infantry options, I think they will combine quite effectively with Keen Senses to make a better-than-average platform for killing light units holding objectives out of LOS.

Specifically, with Keen Sense giving them the ability to ignore the -1 to hit for shooting out of LOS, a squad of 10 SW Desolaters ought to be able to reliably clear a squad of GEQs holding an Obj/doing a secondary out of LOS in your opponent's DZ. The ability to take out a squad of Guardsmen, Fire Warriors, Neophytes, Guardians, lesser Daemons, Kabalite Warriors, Gaunts, Skitarii, Gretchen, etc. every turn, even if they are out of LOS, can be a game changer I think, especially since the Desolators can hold an objective for you while doing so.

No, actually, Keen Senses ignore any or all hit roll modifiers, BS modifiers, and WS modifiers, so should still work (I just reread it to be sure) ;)

i mixed up ideas.

Was thinking of culexus assassin replacing your BS/WS not being called a "modifier"

You do indeed avoid indirect penalty.
