We have seen the new Bezerker models now, and most of their options.

They seem VERY subdued, mutation wise, compared to other CSM variants.

Do you all think the models could be used for late heresy or even mid heresy World Eaters?

Do you think they were somewhat designed with that in mind?

If you do think they could be used, what changes would you make, if any, in terms of bits and such?

Lastly, what about Angron?

I think they're ok, but just ok. I wouldn't be bothered by someone using them but, due to the armour mk, they don't fit the setting as well as the Thousand Sons or Death Guard models.

When World Eaters were announced I immediately started thinking about using them for 30K but I was kinda disappointed with the range so I won't be going that way.

If they ever do Daemon-Primarch rules though I wouldn't bat an eyelid about using the Angron model, though. I think that looks great.

100% useable for late heresy/siege. They're losing control, their ships are getting warped by angrons presence, lots of personnel are dying, and Sarum is just sending them whatever they want now. Pretty plausible reason for the armour to start diverging.

Pretty sure they work just fine from mid heresy, even post Istvaan for the more extreme elements. mk5 armour is always good and they established the Bunny ears as a pre heresy thing for nutters. Plus its a great source for butchers nails heads!

Im considering converting a Reaver squad out of them for my Siege era SoH :D

I play SoH and I'm planning on picking up a squad of Berzerkers to do some more Legion Despoilers. I had already used the Chaos Legionnaire squad set to do that. With some work, the Chaos minis can look like passable MkV suits from the late Heresy. With some extra studs and the like the effect is pretty good.

probable modifications:

  • Helmets: mix of MkIV, V, etc.
  • Shoulder pads: from MkVI kits
  • Backpack: MkIV, MkVI
  • Bolt pistols and CC weapons from various sources (the hardest bitz to get a reliable supply of tbh)
  • Spiky trim on the models will need to be fully removed or at least toned down.

For the more 'loyalist' Legions the kit might look too Chaotic, but as a traitor commander I'm definitely doing exactly what Mittens is suggesting. As he said, there are almost no mutations on the kit so it looks very promising.

I have been thinking the same. I have Azrakh from warhammer + and a cheap spartan. Thinking him, some converted red butchers and beserkers would be a nice little force. I can't decide whether to do blue and white or red for them though....

The ones Sangy is fighting in the artwork for the siege novels are pretty much 40k berzerkers, They got the ears and red armour and devotions to khorne. Only thing I'd change out are the pistols and chainswords for like phobos pattern.

I think they degenerated pretty quick after Armatura and Angron's ascension to Deamonhood.
