Hello everyone,

Here is the Phobos Lieutenant I painted to go with my infiltrators I posted last week (don't hesitate to click on the picture if it's blury).
It's obviously totally based on @Wispy's kitbash he posted a few months ago. As I said in the first post, his kitbashes were a real inspiration for me and pushed me to explore some stuff I won't have done otherwise (and maybe my SW army won't even exist yet).
So hats of to him and this mini is my tribute to him.

I'm not sure what to do next (I'll start a Bretonnian army I think in a few weeks) so maybe I'll won't post for a while here.

Hello everyone, long time no see!

My Bretonnian army is now quite big and I'm really proud of it (~1500 points... Painting an Old World army is not a small project), but now that we'll get new magnificent miniatures I decided to go back on my Space Wolves a little.

So I kitbashed this little Iron Priest. I'm really proud of the result, I hope you like it too!PXL_20250527_074903715_MP2.thumb.jpg.f4cc344bba7c159c695949f9f26c1f20.jpgPXL_20250527_074915704_MP2.thumb.jpg.0039db8776da523b135e0104d730b0ae.jpg

Like everyone here I received my Army Set and having a lot of fun building the new minis.
Honestly i didn't saw it in gw's pictures but the jump in quality compared to the previous Space Marine I built is impressive.

I magnetized my Headtakers :

Spoiler

I also magnetized both arms of the battle leader and tried to do a Lukas the trickster like for my blood claws (like everyone else I assume).

I read the codex also and I REALLY like the Runemarked symbol. I may switch my great company for my next minis and it already fits my "red" background for my great company symbol.

I made a Runemarked logo with the help of a friend :SW_Decal_1.png?ex=68554baa&is=6853fa2a&hm=88e9b78435b1c83a23128b8ba5962bf985b68882b9ea02ef6a58b6b854d4f95a&

Hello everyone,
I painted my converted Iron Priest, and I decided to switch my great company to the Runemarked for my futures SW.

His very simple lore, I wrote to explain a few painting decisions :

Spoiler

Harman the Ironbreaker is a proud Space Wolves Iron Priest. He decided to keep the great wolf symbol on his shoulder to put his assigned GC symbol on his knee symbol, now the Runemarked.

Grievously hurt on Armageddon where Orks took his arm he crossed the Rubicon Primaris. He sti keeps parts of his old armour, now painted in red to honour the priesthood of Mars which formed him.

He kept a furious hatred again the Greenskins and The hall of Fang now echoes of multiple Sagas where Ironfang is destroying an ork metal creature.

Hi everyone,
I just finished my first minis from the last refresh.
I loved painting the faces honestly. They are so cool, maybe the best marines faces I ever painted. Can't wait to paint the rest.

First the Wolf Guard Terminators:test.thumb.jpg.81066276b5c54641a77005c86e3489f7.jpg

And the Headtakers Wolves:

Hello everyone!
I finished my Wolf Guard Battle Leader I started just after finishing my Terminators less than two weeks ago.
Once again the sculpt is awesome. Those new Space Wolves are so good!
He'll be my general at the Paris Wargame Expo in a few weeks, I'll play in the 2v2 narrative event.
I hope you'll like it!

Ok so I just finished one in time...

But I'll use some Assault Intercessor for the other nine blood claws and take the time I need to finish the rest.

(And yes I converted him to look like Lukas)

It's not water but it's snow (ok snow is water but you understand what I mean. ).
To do my base :

- in a hollow base, I put some enemy bits (often bits from my friends armies) and paint them

- I pour uv resin

- I sand paper it to add some scratches when it's hard

- put some electric blue and white very crudely and use household alcohol with my finger to clean it (the idea is to keep the paint in the scratches and have very very thin paint outside on top of the resin to just tint it)

- matt varnish

- after that I put the snow : Ak terrain snow and snow sprinkles
And that's all. Not so hard to do for a effect I really love.

Yesterday I also took an army shot with all the minis I'll use this weekend :focusstackingonline_com.jpeg3.thumb.png.5214393313c02e643fecd7d053166b63.png

Those look amazing

You have great usage of the blues I could never even come close to when I was painting (my power weapon attempts are on here somewhere if you want a good laugh).

The power weapons and plasmas and the ice/water bases....excellent work!!!

Thanks.
Also I don't laugh at people hard work. If you put the effort to paint your minis, you are already doing far more than the majority of the player base. It should be celebrated and not shamed.
And as a teen I was mocked for some paint job I put my heart in. Honestly it sucks. But if I didn't paint those, I wouldn't be the painter I am today and I still love those pieces.

I have a pictures of my first Ulrik btw I painted 20+ years ago, I don't have a lot of my original Space Wolves left, but this one is still in my display case. I put a ton of work on him at the time and was the first miniature where I tried to paint gradients.
He honestly is far from good but I'll never get rid of him:

As I said less than two weeks ago, I teamed up with my friend Republ33k for the very first French Grand Narrative at the Paris Wargame Expo (PWE).

The event was massive (around 1,200 players) which is super impressive for a first edition. The organisation was near perfect, everything went really smooth. My only gripe is that the venue felt a bit cramped. The tables were so close together that someone actually broke one of my minis by accident.
They also had a problem with lunch on Saturday — it came really late, so we had to start playing without it. But to make up for it, they brought the food directly to our tables while we played, which was honestly pretty cool (and the food was great, too).

(This image shows less than 1/3 of all the event I think)

I brought my Space Wolves, and over two days we played four games. My friend ran a Armoured Imperial Guard squadron with just five tanks. It was my first event of this kind, so I didn’t know what to expect, but the atmosphere was really nice. Everyone was super friendly and knew how to play well, games were intense but fair, and every match was fun. We ended up with 2 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss and I was really happy with our team strategy which really worked well for the entirety of the event.

The narrative aspect was fantastic. We had different planets to conquer or defend, each with its own biome reflected in the table setup. There were ongoing storylines between games, too: at one point we discovered there were traitors within our Imperium alliance, there also was an Inquisitor player investigating on of our faction leader. I would have loved to be in a storyline like this but not everyone can be special I guess. The faction leaders themselves weren’t players but cosplayers, and they were incredible, walking around, giving orders, acting out scene, etc. It really added a lot to the immersion.

(Our Team Leaders)

In the end, I won Best Painted Army for all the 2v2 40k players which count about 400 armies. I also entered my Iron Priest in the painting competition (Master category) and won a bronze medal. You can see the full army a few post earlier.

I did have the worst headache in years the next day, but it didn't even tarnished the experience in the slightest. I hope I'll be able to do it again next year!
