Some of the upgraded Kill Teams have their specialist gear reflected in 40k, and some don't. Right now, we don't know whether Kabalites will or not.

Personally, the upgrades really, really fit well with my Crusade story. My Kabal is custom Kabal with the toxin crafter trait. My Archon Ascendant Lord has had his splinter realm destroyed by the Daemonic incursion that Yvraine brought to Commorragh, so he has to rebuild from the ground up- he has almost nothing of his former army or realm left. So he cuts a deal with a Lhamaean... In game terms, she and her pet Medusae and Urghuls, as well as her Sslyth bodyguard function as his court... But the truth is that she is testing him to see if the alliance is worthwhile. She has her own poison distillery, and she is willing to add it to his holdings to help him recover his former glory... But only if he proves himself worthy.

So together, they will rock all the poison- maximizing the poison use of all their units, taking all the poison weapon upgrades they can get.

So the upgrades in the Kill Team fit my fluff perfectly... It's like GW read my mind.

But only if the upgraded Kabalites get a datasheet. Here's hoping.

I hope they do too, a couple of extra bits of equipment or rules would be pretty cool!

So far of the KTs that are just an upgrade sprue only CSM and Tau have rules in 40k. I think that's mostly down to the fact that the Killteams released just before their codexes dropped.

The Phobos and Immortal teams have been released after their codexes, so perhaps they're not getting rules until 10th Edition?

If we get a PDF datacard update, it'll happen in the next two weeks. If it doesn't I'll just make my own house rules. I'm thinking of getting the box so that I have everything; once I have the KT rules for the gear, converting it should be easy enough.

As for conversion:

Limited load-out options are a problem for a lot of units in 9th ed, and monopose models offer challenges to conversion that wouldn't otherwise exist. But conversion is still alive and well- frequently appearing in White Dwarf. Kill team is gradually generating more flexible 40k units, even if the practice is inconsistent. Crusade is also a gold mine for conversion ideas- there are a fair number of relics that can be represented by conversions, as well as weapon upgrades, trophies to represent advancement... There's a lot to work with.

While I personally plan to use the Drukhari upgrade kit for my Anhrathe, it seems likely to me that the Hand of the Archon will become a thing in the Warhammer 40,000 game. There's a lot of room for an Elites/HQ Kabalites unit, especially as a potential replacement for, alternative to, or augmentation of the Court of the Archon. It would be nice for Drukhari players to have a pure Kabalites option (i.e., not needing to take any "mercenary" units such as Incubi or Mandrakes, and not having to rely on Wyches or Haemonculi), and this fits the bill quite nicely. There's just too much potential in this sprue for GW to not realize the benefits of including it in Warhammer 40,000. Fingers crossed.

I missed my window on the box. That's okay I guess... Getting the teams one at a time does avoid the big hit to the bank account.

I still have to buy a bunch of Kill Teams before this collection goes up as separates.

Woo Hoo! My store had a box on ethe shelf, and now those awesome upgraded Kabalites are MINE!

In addition to new Kabalite options, there are also strategic assets, and these could crossover to 40k because Drukhari Crusade content involves fighting for control of territories.
