I know it used to be in the BBCode before, but obviously it's been a while since I last looked at it as I have just found it the majority of things were removed and so was the post thread on it. When it works, it's great; and it is faster and easier than the [] method. The downside to the [] method is that you need to know the exact construct of the desired member's name. If you miss an underscore or a space, you'll have problems. Each method has pros and cons, so knowing both is key. I've set it so any mentions of me (tags) will show in my notification list, and so far (as far as I know), I have always received a notification. Of course, if somebody doesn't want notifications from mentions, that should be their choice.
