Just asking (no new info from me)… Plastic mark 2 power armour?

Hi,

I’ve tried to be super clear with the title so I don’t create excitement. I’m just interested to know if there’s any reliable rumours regarding plastic mark 2 power armour infantry units in 30k?

Nope. Just educated guesses.

 

I wouldn't expect we'll see them until AoD is at least a year old, if only because that's how long it was between Calth (MK4) and Prospero (MK3).

Valrak has said his sources have confirmed both mk2 and 5 are ready to go. He has a pretty good track record, and we have plastic vheicle crews so thats another good indicator. 

I would assume we will get a big campaign set with them in with some other minis, maybe around xmas this year or summer next year?

We know they at least have the base sculpt for MK II, as it's in both the pintle weapon sprue and Argel Tal.

 

Valrak has been pretty good on that, but just because they're sculpted and ready, doesn't mean they're imminent. They work many years in advance.

 

I think some sort of mid-edition box is a good call, but we don't know what all might be in it.

That the CADs exist isn't an indication that a product is ready to go; it still has to go through about a dozen further design stages before it's ready for production. Tooling most notably.

 

That said, as Sarabando said, Mark II does exist in CAD form; Mark V as well, given the way Forge World and Games Workshop future-proof when sculpting.

Biggest indication is that valrak, who has a solid track record for what it's worth, stated that mk 2 & 5 are done and are just waiting for a good time to release.

 

I am guessing a big box in the vein of AoD tough maybe smaller and without the core book late 2023 or 2024

I wouldnt underestimate how long stuff can sit on ice at GW though, stuff can take years, like the Nerf gun Primaris were apparently ready around the same time as the early 8th stuff but for some reason kept getting put off lol Im hoping it doesn't take that long ofc, need my studdly boys ;)

I’m in two minds whether to do a world eaters 30k army using the new berzerkers as a starting point for kitbash/conversion, or hold out to do a legion in plastic mk2 because mk2 is the best heresy armour (in my opinion ).

 

I think I can probably hold out for the rest of this year to see what further news comes up… unless I lose my resolve when the world eaters combat patrol is released
