Having the full range from the first wave ill say that they are good. Not better than any other range like gw or vallejo. Some of the colors have better coverage than other, but their metallics are very good.

I can recommend them.

I've only heard good things from people i know that have got them, and if you wanted to support someone that actually cares about gamers & money equally then you should buy their product  I'd buy his paints on that point alone... I like GW's paints but if someone made paint similar (like he does) and isn't such a money sucking overlord (GW is) then for sure.

The metallics are fantastic so smooth and don't separate anyway near as much as the citadel  options in my honest opinion.  As I use a wet pallet the dropper bottle is prefect, for this the addition of a mixing ball in the bottle is a further nice touch. Only complaint is the price.

To Add to this, I'm in Australia soooo Two thin coats paints are kinda hard to find down under , at the moment that is, I did find an online retailer here that stocks them they are still $3.00 cheaper than GW paints (anything from GW here is probably way more expensive than the UK equivalent)  so even if i paid shipping it'd still be a win.

@our_baz - i'm not sure what the price is in the UK but here at the moment they are cheaper than GW...  your Glowing review on the metallics is wanting me to order some for myself

If it's of interest, Duncan's paints are £3.95 RRP, but you can get them for around £3.55 online. By comparison GW's paints are £3.70 RRP (around £3.15 online), and Vallejo are £2.75 RRP (£2.20 online).

If you can't find Duncan's paint range, Vallejo's Metal Colour range (the ones in 35ml pots) are excellent, although they drybrush poorly (so may or may not rule them out) - I'm guessing they should have reasonable availability in Australia?

@Firedrake Cordova- Oh I can get Vallejo metal colour alright , I just wanted to get a good metallic and still support Duncan  .

tnanks for the info though !!

cheers ,M

I've picked up the three silvers and the black/oil wash.

The Darkest silver (Sir Coates silver I think) is a lovely shade about halfway between leadbelcher and Iron Warriors (quite close to the old Boltgun metal) it does need multiple coats to get a solid colour, but that's kind of their thing, so I guess that's fine.

The Oblvion Black wash is to my mind better than the new Nuln oil, slightly blacker than the old nuln oil but gives the same sort of shading - Personally I prefer my shades/washes to be in a pot rather than a dropper so I'll be decanting into my old Nuln oil pot once it's finished but that's personal optinion.

On a related note, does anyone have any experience with the Colourforge sprays?  They're certainly cheaper than the GW ones, but are they comparable?

I've used their matte black and it worked fine.

I've heard good things about Sunset Yellow being a 99% match for the discontinued Averland Sunset Yellow spray.

I've used a couple of them. Matt black was good. Their grey seer copy also worked great. I'm looking at getting a couple more to try as they're much better value that the GW sprays.

I've been using Matt Black and Drake Scale Green - they're a little thick, but coverage is good, and the finish is nice and smooth.

The main thing for me is that they're colour matched to GW, so Drake Scale Green is a match for Stegadon Scale Green. There's a very slight difference in finish, but I suspect that's due to spray versus brush, the actual tone is pretty much dead on. They're really good for people who don't / can't have an airbrush and want to paint lots of things quickly or big things smoothly - spray over an undercoat, and then touch up with the relevant GW paint.

For those who have tried the Colourforge - Are they generally glossy or more matt? I picked up one of the TTCombat not khorne red sprays and it's mush too glossy for my taste, so I'd be happy to bin it off and replace with the Colourforge version if it's less of a glossy plastic finish.

I've only tried TTC's Sprue Grey, and that was pretty matt, so I can't really speak to their paints, but Colourforge's Matt Black and Drake Scale Green are definitely matt. A friend has been using their Sunset Yellow for their IF and that looks pretty matt as welll, so I think they're probably more matt than not. That said, I've seen the finish described as "satin" in some reviews, so it might vary between paints.

If you're intending it to be an alternative to Khorne Red then you should be okay with Ruinous Red - if they're colour matching a matt colour then their equivalents should be matt too.

i'm looking at a spray to base coat a bunch of buildings, so that sounds promising.
