bluedestiny
This sorta popped in my head after reading the rules. Searchlights allows "...any unit that has been the target of a Shooting Attack made by a unit with searchlights (regardless of whether any Hits were inflicted or not) may be freely targeted for Shooting Attacks by any other unit in the same Shooting phase, ignoring the 24" restriction to line of sight imposed by the Night Fighting rules " So if I have a Scoripus behind cover, out of line of sight with searchlights. I can target a enemy unit and shoot at it (Barrage) while lighting it up for everyone else, Would that be correct? Xenith
Seems legit, but expect people to be unhappy! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/377664-searchlight-barrage-flares/#findComment-5912874 Share on other sites
Valkyrion
What a wonderful loophole, I hope this turns out to be legal. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/377664-searchlight-barrage-flares/#findComment-5912892 Share on other sites
SkimaskMohawk
It 100% works, and barely beats out a power of the machine spirit tank lighting up all it's various targets in terms of silly visuals. LameBeard
Actually the “flare” rationalisation is pretty cool. My son just bought a Scorpius- I don’t think I’ll tip him off just yet. Valkyrion
Would enemy Barrage attacks still have to suffer the reroll Hit penalty when targeting a Scorpius that has Searchlighted (searchlit?) something? bluedestiny
I'l take it that the enemy can shoot you back. Narrative style, they see a bright flare shoot up from somewhere, they'll bombard that location. If it doesn't have true LoS then yes, otherwise it would simply be -1. Only if they have barrage - searchlights ignore the LOS limit of 24" for night fight, but they do not ignore other TLOS considerations. 17 hours ago, SkimaskMohawk said: It 100% works, and barely beats out a power of the machine spirit tank lighting up all it's various targets in terms of silly visuals. This is hilarios and I have to try it. LR Phobos do have multiple headlights...
