That's a gross misrepresentation of the motives people have for not using fanmade content. People don't find it "scary" it's just not part of the standard social contract. SkimaskMohawk
1 hour ago, Brumbaer said: Please note, if one of you non character models has already lost a life, you can not choose a Character. It only works the other way round. If a Character already has lost a life, he must not be a chosen. Also this is only done when called to allocate a wound, that is when and only when the first wound of a wound pool is allocated or when a model that had the previous wound of that pool allocated died. Please check the rules: Once you have chosen a model, you have to keep allocating wounds to the very same model until it is dead or the wound pool has run dry. It is not allowed to switch the model after a first loss of life that doesn't kill it. The paragraph is quite clear. So when you choose to allocate wounds to a character, he has to take all the wounds until no wounds are left in the pool or he is dead. If you risk your character on saving 30 Volkite wounds it's up to you. Of course you can change the probability of his deliverance by waiting until the pool is down to 5 and switch to the character the next time a model dies. You're right that you can't choose to allocated to an unwounded character when there's a wounded model already present. You're wrong that a wounded character cannot be chosen for wound allocation. You're wrong that only the first wound of a wound pool can be chosen, and that characters have to tank until they die. The reason for his is on page 192 under character wound allocation, and is even refered to in one of your quotes: Quote Characters and Wound Allocation When allocating Wounds, a player may always choose not to allocate Wounds to a model with the Character Sub-type, regardless of how many Wounds that model has lost or any other factors that would normally require it to have Wounds allocated to it, as long as there is at least one other valid target model in the same unit to which Wounds may be allocated instead. The language is unequivocal. Gorgoff 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/377670-fixing-v20/page/3/#findComment-5915062 Share on other sites
The Unseen
Yep. A single sarge tanking isn't the real issue, though it can be a little annoying if someone doesn't roll any 1s and saves a bunch of wounds with 2s, it isn't the actual problem. The problem is when you have a Primarch, Praetor, Sarge, and Apothecary all in 1 squad, and you have to do like 10 wounds through a 2+ save before the unit actually suffers a casualty and does less damage. Vehicle squadrons should be like dread Talons for sure, it just unfairly punishes them when the rules already don't really help them, stacking on penetrating hits that overflow to the next vehicle is just adding more injury to the insults of reaction restrictions.
