I have the Rank of Battle-Brother, what does that mean?

While looking at my profile I noticed that I had a "rank" and that it was Battle-Brother, what do the ranks mean and how to you rank up? Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this but I didn't see anything that would answer it by clicking around.

The ranks are simply indicators of each member's relative amount of participation at the site. You earn achievement points by creating topics, replying to topics, giving and receiving reactions, creating albums, uploading images to your albums, and myriad other aspects of participating in the community. In real terms, the ranks don't confer anything in terms of authority, permissions, abilities, or privileges - an Aspirant (lowest rank) is theoretically equal to a Venerable Brother (highest rank), but a Venerable Brother has considerable participation in the site whereas an Aspirant is brand new to the site and hasn't done anything yet.

 

Eventually there will be an article on the ranks, and it will tie in with similar articles on the achievements/badges and reactions. Where the rank shows a member's aggregate in terms of participation, the achievements/badges show a breakdown of how much the member has contributed in terms of the discrete contributions.
