Starlight_Wolf
Just played a game yesterday and as running Sons of Horus, I have become quite fond of ramming empty rhinos into infantry (because other than mobile cover what else would any sensible person do with them, especially with the trait giving at least 4 hits and potentially spooking a squad). We did notice that while that you declare distance the vehicle performing the ram it doesn't have any further effect? Wasn't sure if there's something we've missed, as with pre-measuring falling short isnt an issue and over shooting never happens as you stop when you come into contact with another model. It doesn't affect strength of the ram attacks (as that is 1/2 front armour rounded up) that we could see, so just wanted to clarify, if there's anything we missed or just another rules oddity? Solution dickyelsdon Posted March 7, 2023 Solution Share Posted March 7, 2023 The intention is the ramming vehicle could continue to move forward if the target unit was killed or fled. If you read the section about Units Falling Back it mentions the vehicles remaining move hitting the target unit a second time. So declaring a distance is to set where you want it to end up in that case. i.e. you might not want to move the full 14" and end up somewhere you dont want the rhino to be.
