I was curious if anyone has bought new units for HH 2.0 they wish they didn't? Myself, I nominate the Kratos. Bought X2 and don't really see myself using them at all over existing tanks I own or leaving them out entirely to take more infantry instead.

In my case, no. Well, not yet. I have a nice arny of 3500-4000 points and I happy with my purchases. I'm quite careful and I plan what I buy and I try to have different assembly options for most of the units.

My only regret is not having more tartaros terminators before GW started to sell them in boxes of 10. Too expensive for my pocket right now...

Anyway, in my opinion, in any warhammer game a today "regret" can be soon or later an excellent purchase. Or vice versa.

"Thanks" to GW's politics especially in FAQs and editions.

My regreats for heresy (and AoS and 40k) relate to not wanting to play unpainted models, but I somehow have three very large armies that each sent finished. My only fully painted force is 1500 points of wolves, but I have another several thousand, several thousand thousand sons, and several thousand (mainly 3d printed) auxilia to get through (never mind everything else!).

But due to the edition reset, the legacies and my group not wanting to use Panoptica, I'm not sure if I'll ever use my thousand sons macharius tanks - I love them both, but they are just expensive liabilities in the game (especially the omega!). No matter how many emails I send FW, I don't these will be fixed.

I bought a second Spartan that I was going to convert into a ghetto cerberus using spare Kratos weapons, but that was too complex for my limited time and now permanently shelved once the plastic cerb was teased. I got another AoD set, so that would make it spartan #3. So that's my regret, a third spartan.

My Kratos is usually a star performer in games if you can manage the flare shield - last game mine killed 2 sicarans, 2 javelins and stripped 4 wounds from the lion, the apoc game before that caused something like 60HP of damage across warhounds, knights, baneblades etc in 3 turns. I love it. I'm considering swapping it out in games for 3x magna melta preds. You get 9 melta shots and 6 lascannons instead of 4 and 4, but they're a hell of a lot more vulnerable.

No, I don't think so.

To be honest, I have reached a stage where the only purchase I would regret making is one I couldn't easily store. Over the years I have paid more and more attention to the safe and neat storage of models, and the means to transport them. I have large armies that are boxed away in bespoke trays at all times, so I can easily move them or produce the models for play.

Units wise that I have purchased in HH 2.0 so far:

-Primarch Guilliman

-40 MkVI Tacticals

-10 Marines with Volkite Culverins

-10 Fulmentarus Terminators

-3 x Contemptors (various guns equipped on each one, rarely run at once)

-Kratos Tank

-Spartan

-Sicaran Venator

-Rhino Tanks (had these spares from past collections)

-Predator Tank

-2x Apothecaries

-Various Characters including Multiple Praetors, Librarian, Master of Signal, Primus Medicae, Master of the Forge, etc, etc consuls

Honestly I have really enjoyed using every model mentioned above. The Primarch is a lot of fun in games. He has already duelled Corax, Angron and Vulkan. The two large tanks have performed very well too - with flare shielding they have survived until the late/end of game on a lot of occasions. I also enjoy having 60 bodies on the table (not counting characters) in 3k games. Everyone seems so concerned with their elite units, but you get a lot of durability and board control with the tacticals for a low cost.

For me it was the 2 deredeos. They're very good on paper for their role, but they're actually so good people just stopped bringing flyers lol. And since they're only really good against vehicles, theyre a bit of a waste against dreads/elites and just end up feeling bad when they're your only heavy support.

All of it!

Due to real life and work being insanely busy all the time I've not had much of a chance to sit down and actually make any of it. So I've had about 100 Mk 6 I got dirt cheap for £11 a squad of ten when people were first breaking down boxes, a Kratos, two predators, two rhinos, a spartan, a proteus, three Leviathans, two Sky Hunter squads and a Contemptor sat shrink wrapped for months on end that I FOMO'd.

But rather than dwell on it I'm determined to turn this into a positive, firstly one of the advantages of GW stuff is it rarely loses it's value so there is always resale.

I really want to get back into the gaming side of things and meet up with people I talk to on here. While far from being a timid recluse I'm quite a solitary person and I think having a social life with like minded people would do me the world of good.

My only purchase regret is the 3D prints ive bought to make units or HQs not yet in plastic. Without fail they have been out of scale, poor quality, or just look wrong.  Ive since bought my own printer as i dont trust when someone else says 'it fits fine, all marines are the same anyway'.  Im sure some sellers are reliable, ive just not found one and not willing to spend the money to find out anymore.

I can't really see myself using the Spartan in the AoD box set, so haven't built that yet. Otherwise I've been pretty restrained. I have held off buying tanks, even though they are shiny, as I don't think they'd be fielded.

I regret my new SoH force really, i enjoyed building it but it was supposed to be a group project and nearly everyone else bailed on it, meaning i could have just spent the money on more Sisters for my actual main army, though tbf at the time their fate was too nebulous to spend money on.

My Iron warriors are pretty crap in 2nd ed due to focusing on fortifications and artillery, but i did get plenty of fun with them in 1st.

That's why I am going with Word Bearers so worst case I can always still use most of it for 40k.

How about regrets for purchases made in HH1.0 that are now fundamentally useless in HH2.0?

I’ve got a reasonable list of those….

That's basically a laundry list at this point, but I will give you a line in the book of grudges in this trying time. :teehee:

I had a Sons of Horus HH army years ago, put together within the first few years of the setting taking off as a game.

Over the years I sold all the models (aside from a commission painted Horus which is simply magnificent), and the army helped me finance other projects.

Do we have a proper list of such units yet? It's probably a good idea to have it stated simply :)

But yikes, so many :(

To be honest, it’s mainly the peripheral LoW units, and perhaps that’s my fault for getting too experimental…..

Looking at my IH Minotaur and WE Macharius Omega…..

I’ve poured too much time into those pieces to sell them on!

Maybe my Plastic Sicaran? It doesn't see a lot of play, but it's nice to have on the sidelines for when a newer player wants to start playing. I start with relatively weaker lists locally and then make changes over time to try to keep games close between each of my opponents.

Maybe also having too many pyroclasts. That can change as I have more opponents.

I bought 8 total H.H 2.0 box sets, 6 levithans, like 2-3 of the full contemptor kits, 2 extra Spartans, 2 extra sets of tartaros termies, 4 normal predators, 4 special predators, 3 rhinos, 2 sicarians and a Kratos. I want 2-3 boxes of jet bikes, 1 typhoon and 1-2 laser sicarians. I also used 8 boxes of CSM for my SoH.

I dont regret it. I love all the new stuff.

Is this for several Legions?

Because that's a lot of Marines (and Spartans)!

Fair play to you.

Thats a whole other ballpark lol

I’d second the Kratos. I don’t exactly regret buying it as I enjoyed building and painting it and it looks really cool but on the table it’s been extremely underwhelming and doesn’t really make my lists anymore.

I’ve also bought a lot of bikes now they’re plastic but I haven’t finished building and painting them yet so haven’t used them, but the potential is there for disappointment.
