June is a pretty safe bet; the only one of the 5 previous big edition launches that didn't happen in June was 9th Edition 40K (which presumably was purely down to it coming out in 2020 after we'd had two months of lockdown in the UK which would have affected production timescales). Pre-order dates for the various releases below:

04 June 2022 - Horus Heresy 2nd Ed

19 June 2021 - Age of Sigmar 3rd Ed

11 July 2020 - 40K 9th Ed

16 June 2018 - Age of Sigmar 2nd Ed

03 June 2017 - 40K 8th Edition

So have your pre-order money ready for early June, IMO.

Someone was looking at the release schedules a few months back and noticed that nothing was planned for the 24th of June so that would be my bet.

I think the RRP of Indomitus was £140 although I could be misremembering. Assuming the release trailer shows the models in the box, i think it is safe to say that 10th will be more costly. How much remains to be seen.

How much was Indomitus box set? Are we putting ~ £30 more on the new set?

Indomitus was £125 in 2020. I think if the same box were still available today it'd probably be closer to £140 so it still is probably worth using that as a basis for guesses about 10th. If the trailer is fairly accurate regarding the included models it's actually not wildly different in terms of plastic from Indomitus:

Indomitus Captain = Captain in Terminator Armour

Indomitus Chaplain = Librarian in Terminator Armour

Indomitus Lieutenant = Phobos Lieutenant w/ Auto-Flamer

Indomitus Judiciar = Apothecary in Gravis Armour

3 Bladeguard Veterans = 3 Terminators

5 Assault Intercessors = 5 Primaris Sternguard

5 Assault Intercessors = 5 Pyreblaster Guys

Bladeguard Ancient, 3 Eradicators, 3 Outriders =ish Mortis Redemptor Dreadnought

Skorpekh Lord & 2 Cryptothralls =ish Norn Emissary & Floating Brains

Overlord, Plasmancer & Royal Warden =ish Shrike Prime

10 Necron Warriors & Scarabs = 10? Termagants & Rippers

10 Necron Warriors & Scrarabs = 10? Hormagaunts & Rippers

3 Skorpekh Destroyers = 3 Pyrovores

Canoptek Reanimator = Screamer-Killer Carnifex

Nothing = 2 Mini-Haruspex looking things

Nothing = 2 Lictors

So based on that I'm going to predict a £150 price tag for it, although I wouldn't at all be surprised by anything up to £185 (which is the current price of the Age of Darkness box)

The US store managers fly out to Dallas the first week of June. Given they bring a combat patrol with them, I expect they'll learn the new rules then, for probably preorder right afterwards.

The new combat patrol rules will almost certainly be what they use to demo games to new folks.

Early June then mid-late June has been the preorder date and release date for the tent-pole productions the last few years, as Halandaar points out - the same with November for "Boxed games" like Titanicus, blood bowl, aeronautica etc.

Price is tricky. Indo was £125 RRP on release, and other 9th ed 'dusl' sets have been in the £130 mark, without a big rulebook (soul forge king etc). I think we could indeed be looking at £140-150.

Absolute worst case, I can't see the Indomitus style launch box being any more than the Age of Darkness box is at the moment.

Hopefully, they do the Made to Order routine that they did with Indomitus and the most recent AoS launch box.

I’m sure valrak said preorder 10th June for release on 24th in one of his videos.

He did, and it was also based on the information that all the GW have to do training the beginning of June, which is clearly so they can learn the ins and outs of the game.

Also I believe that the GW release schedule from earlier in the year showed a mysterious blank on the 24th of June.  As far as I am concerned, it will be the 24th unless GW themselves say otherwise.

The Show Me Showdown Major on July 14th in Kansas City, USA is advertising that they are using 10th ed rules. So late June seems extremely likely, unless this tournament is just hoping rather than knowing

Could we see a slimmed down rulebook in the box or general so they save money or keep price down?

Good question. I would say that in recent years they've seemed to move away from that approach and towards "full" hardcover rulebooks for their big box games (except Warcry, I guess). I guess we have to go back to 7th ed. 40K and 8th ed. WFB for examples of slimmed down rulebooks in starter boxes. Ototh, it's an approach that makes a certain sense (plus, they can sell at least some customers both versions of the rulebook), so who knows?

My own guess would be along the lines of the full rulebook in hardcover coming in the starter box. But the 10th ed. rulebook might just not be as voluminous as earlier editions, if they keep the rules short and sweet, as they seem to want to.

Sadly I think the days of the softback mini-version of the full rulebook are well behind us - as far as I recall the last boxes to have them were back in 7th Edition. I suspect GW thought the move to a much more stripped down set of core rules available as a pdf eliminated the need for them.

Worth bearing in mind though that the Chapter Approved Mission packs effectively fulfilled this role by having the rules in them in a much more portable format, with the added bonus that you didn't have to buy a big battlebox or hit eBay to obtain one. (At least the first ones did, stopped paying attention after the first couple)

Not at all. The 9th Edition Command Edition box set included a softback mini rulebook. It is a complete copy of the rules section of the big rule book.

I assume that GW will do a very similar line up of starter boxes for 10th so we will likely see another mini rule book in the 10th Edition equivalent of the Command Edition set.

The competition rules on the website for winning a copy of Leviathan give a prize value of £150, which seems to confirm the RRP of the box.

Oh okay, I thought that was a full size (ie A4) book.
