I’ve got quite a collection of GSC that have been prepped but languishing for a while. I just recently took a hard look at what I wanted to do with my army and decided on Pauper Princes.

Well now we know 10th is looming large. What should I do now?

This post is just to come up with some ideas. I’m thinking that the staples of our force will still remain, so building up some large blocks of neophyte, and some tooled up Acolytes will probably be a good thing.

Any other ideas?

Specific weapon builds are one of the questions. I was going to run seismic and grenade launchers but should I build up some other options just in case?

I think it's always good to have options. My own preference is to have enough of most options that I can flip between them as and when I want to (although my small group isn't overly worried about wysiwyg, so I've sometimes put down a variety of heavy rock something acolytes and called the whole lot drills, for example).

Also, paint what you've not got, because variety is fun. And paint what you want to paint, because painting for fun feels more important than painting just to meet goals and objectives.

And as you like the Princes, maybe some aberrants, who tend to do better than usual in that creed (assuming that doesn't get blown out of the water by the edition change...)

As Rogue said, it’s really hard to determine which loadouts to go with until the new edition rolls around. If you already have some Acolytes and Neophytes, perhaps holding off on making specialists until 10th could save you some time. Make the normal grunts, and leave the gunners for later

Idk if you like Kill Team, but maybe use the GSC Wyrmblade team as inspiration until 10th roles around. Build up some of the characters, perhaps build up enough guys so you would have all the options available to the team.

That’s pretty set on it I’ll try and get some basic units on the table. I don’t think you can go wrong with a small allotment of troops and some HQ characters. I’ll likely do a magus and primus to start for my HQs and a squad of acolytes and neophytes.

Let’s see what new info slowly trickles out and how that may guide our choices.
