House Fásacha Imperial Knight lance staring a Knight Crusader, two Armiger Warglaives, and an Armiger Moriax has now deflected and defeated three raids against the Imperial World of Cyprus Eden. One by the evil Drukhari and Two by Tau. I am still working up the battle reports and stories to work it. But this is coming from the series of battles at 1000pts for an Escalation League.

 

The First battle against the Dark Eldar used a basic game from the Core Rulebook.

Battle two was against the Tau who fielded two Broadsides. This was Desperate Raids of the Arks of Omen. Armless is a Crusader I had a bit of a damage issue as the magnets that held up the arms fell off just before the battle and I didn't have superglue on hand.

Third game was against a Different Tau player but I keep using the same Lance because so far I have shot my way through three table wins and I am currently in the lead. This one was an Ascension match per the Arks of Omen Missions.

I am including these battles into a greater narrative of Cyprus Eden. So on Cyprus Eden the war has turn a lush Agri World of the Imperium into a contested War world between the Imperium and the Tau. Two major battles have been chronicled already where the Tau have been losing battles but gaining Strategic objectives since a Captain of the Bloodmoon Hunters has fallen to the Tau. Both Chaos and Dhukari have been taking advantage of the situation to needle the two powers and weaken their ability to resist raids elsewhere.

So two more battles in this Escalation league series was against Chaos. I plan to eventually add them to the stories of the Battles against the Disciples of the Jagged Iron. One win and One lost.  I honestly didn't take enough pictures as I should have.  The preceptor is a Count as Crusader as I had some Asphalt meet Model chaos in the parking lot that means a lot of repairs need to happen. 

 

Argon the Daemon Primarch is even more OP in 1000 Points than a Knight Army. That jank doesn't even count as dying when you kill it and it comes back. No VP, No Bring it Down, No Command Points for Grind them Down, Nothing. Didn't know this until after I wasted two turns of full focused firepower on it. That is what really cost me against the WOrld Eaters. Rest of the Army was meh even fight at best.

The Black Legion game was a much better game as we went back and forth. It really came down to strategy and rolls. Easily could have gone either way.

Nice job! Yeah, Angron is pretty nasty- he does cost the WE in Blood Tithe points, so that can help out their opponents. WE are really fast, really focused on forcing the enemy to play their game. Renew the Oaths is good for Knights, I generally take it constantly, but against WE it is hard to pull off- you really don't want a single Knight/Armiger out of action for any Shooting or Melee Phase.

 

One thing I've noticed is that the Honour the House secondary, while only getting a max of 13 VP, can be decent for consistent VP if your list is working well at getting Honour each turn.

Yea I noticed that as well. I have had a few Knight players warn about Trothing but I have been able to maintain Honor easily but not gain Honor easily. I use Defend the Realm and Refuse no Challenge. Which are both hard to Troth but gaining Honor with my Shooty list is sometimes hard unless my opponent is just obliging. With WE I could have made it work if I hadn't wasted time trying to kill Angron for no real gain. His list was built to gain Blood Tithe super easy like minimum Six a Turn and oh guess what it is only six to gain Angron back. I don't mind that beast coming back too much even if it Eviscerates a Knight and can tank Two rounds of Anti Superheavies, It's screwy nature is the denial of points for sheer I guess lore reasons. Like no one model past or present says haha you don't get points for killing me. Even the other screwy summon back or revive the dead ish that other armies and units have don't have that. (looks at Possessed, Chaos Cultists, Necrons, some old Conscript strats with Ice Warriors, Nid swarms, Ork Waagh weirdness......)

 

I didn't really want Renew the Oaths but choices for Knights is limited. Assassination is useless with only One character on the field. Bring Them Down was also limited with only one big guy on the field other than me. And Warpcraft is completely off the Table as no Psyker Characters to use them except for Abhor the witch but neither army had Psykers either.... So yea.

Nope he specifically doesn’t die so no 4VP even if you take him down. That model specifically doesn’t allow getting the VP according to the GW employees. I tried that with Grind Him Down which is 3VP if I kill more than he does in a round. And got told no. Basically when he comes back it’s as he never died.

That is what I said. That is really messed up and needs to be nerfed but with a new edition coming it won’t be. Basically Angron is an instant win thing unless your opponent screws the pooch. Best strategy is to ignore him and kill everything else so he can’t score points quickly enough. But now I know.

Hmm. Yeah, ignoring him might be best, or feed him an Armiger to keep him occupied for a round while your other units try to knock down the other WE main units. If you do manage to kill him off, at least when he comes back he only has 8 wounds so potshots from guns that can't target anything else can do damage to him. Tough army to face with Knights, since we  don't have a lot of attacks to spread out and WE have lots of little squads that can still do damage to us.

So today did not go well for Win column but I made enough points and got enough games that I should place alright within the league. I had two straight losses to Imperial Guard Tanks due to who go first Turn each time. Both of us were really ready to kill tanks and Knights.

Wiped Turn two, this time an Armiger was able to crunk a Tank.

Then I faced off against Black Legion and I lost the first one barely due to the other guy being the bottom of the turn.

This last one I technically won but we called it a tie because it was dice down and after talking it through there was an even chance for it to go either way.

Tournament List for Next weekend submitted and now it is hope this little league play and getting to know my rules helps me out. I have a moderate idea of my strategy and confidence that I will do an okay showing on the field unless I am unlucky to fight only anti tank guys.
