Winterblade27
Quick question, the Sons of Horus ROW ‘The Long March’ let’s you take terminators as troops and also gives them the outflank rule while they’re in that force org slot. If I take a Spartan as a dedicated transport for one of those squads could it outflank or would that squad have to start on the board? Thanks! Dwango
I'm pretty sure any rule the unit has is conveyed onto the transport. I'd have to look to see where it says it in the rules however. Winterblade27
Thanks! I had a look but wasn’t 100% either way but I’ll get the book out and check again! SlickSamos
Not being helpful here, but if everyone has a transport would it be The Long Drive or Horus's Roadtrip? Agramar_The_Luna_Wolf
I think, if is an assigned transport, you can outflank with the unit on it. Because is part of the unit and the rule don't said you can't be embarked on one. I think is the same as infiltrating Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/378178-the-long-march-and-dedicated-transports/#findComment-5931160 Share on other sites
Solution Dwango Posted April 8, 2023 Solution Share Posted April 8, 2023 The bit I'm thinking of is the infiltrate and scout rules. They also convey outflank. Outflank does not state whether it passes the rule onto the DT. There maybe something else written somewhere and if I find it I'll post it. I would just talk it through with your opponent first. It makes sense to me that it would convey it to the DT. Especially as you can block outflank relatively easily. Now, looking at the rules, you can perform a ram attack from reserves. Interesting..... Looking at the rules I am pretty sure you can't. You first turn it in the direction you want it to deive and then ram but coming from reserves you move into the battlefield first so you cant do that. TBF I would have thought that but it specifically states in the rules that you can. You just need to declare it before the vehicle moves onto the battlefield. pg 204 main rule book. Winterblade27
A lot of food for thought! Thanks everyone… I’m still not 100% sure but it does seem to me that the consensus is that the squad has outflank therefore the dedicated transport also does!
