For our appreciation, collecting the younger primarchs art pieces from BL in one convenient thread. I believe most of these portraits show what each primarch looked like not too long before Imperial recovery, so each around the height of his power on the adoptive planet? The Horus one looks like early GC...and maybe same for Sanguinius

(Angron's dog and Jaghatai's horse must be ridiculously huge next to a regular human)

Seems we're only missing pieces for Guilliman and Alpharius?

Angels of Caliban cover does give off some Dog vibes

Curze looking like a member of the Adams Family...or a Scoobie Doo villain

That picture is great but it looks like Triple H against Lord Voldemort with hair.

That mullet is horrible to look at. All he needs is a pair of sunglasses and an overweight bleech blond woman and we got Dog. The art IMO has really been hit or miss for the Lion and as an art nerd that hits hard. Definitely getting a meddling kids vibe from Conrad.

That isn't a mullet though. When you zoom in you see that he has regular long hair. Why his beard is black is another question and thank you for the comparison. Now I always hear the theme song from that dreadful show when I see this picture

I found the inspiration for Curze:

Jokes aside, a lot of the faces by Neil Roberts look...derpy, for lack of a better word

I know it's not a mullet it just reallllly looks like one. I will apologize for sticking the image in your head but i needed a brother in pain.

As far as Primarch pets go... I can definitely see Nuceria breeding giant war hounds that look like regular dogs next to Angron. Jaghatai's horse, though...

Maybe Erda wanted to give all her sons horses but only finished one before she had to send them away?

Not a fan of dad bod Horus. Was expecting him to be ripped + swole, not looking like one of those old timey weightlifters with the handlebar moustache body shape.

Lol...if only I could have a "dad bod" like the Lupercal

Without armour, he probably looks more like one of the leaner modern strongmen, which I think is OK

Shouldn't young Magnus still have two eyes?

I think these are actually mostly Primarchs at rest, preheresy, as opposed to how they appeared before they reunited with the emperor and their Legions - plenty still have their legion icons and such. I guess they would all be around 50-100 years old at this point maybe?

True...some, like Angron, would have to be pre-recovery, no?

But many could just be early GC primarchs in their casual clothes.

These are great. I take it are these by an artist (and not an AI) and if so by whom?

As far as I’m aware, they are all by a human artist or maybe artists and sprinkled throughout the SoT series

Not sure of his or her name though

We'll never know unless the artist themselves posts about it, because GW refuses to give credit to artists anymore for the most part (because GW can't trust the fanbase )
