So I think a lot of us expected 10th be announced at warhammer fest, but with it being announced at adepticon that seems to leave space for something else big to be announced, even if there’s still a big focus on fully revealing the starter box, new kits, and rules.

so here’s what I’m thinking is possible

The Old World(unlikely)

Battle Fleet Gothic (or something similar under a new name.)

is a new necromunda or blood bowl edition up in the rotation that could add them to the list of possibilities?

It won't get bigger (currently) than the 10th Ed launch box.

This will be interesting though as all rules will be available digitally so it'll be interesting to see what they do there. (Presumably hard copies in the box/ at least the datasheets)

I don’t think any of the options I mentioned would be bigger than 10th(except maybe ToW) but would still classify as big still.

I think between unveiling the 10th Ed rules, allowing people to play it for the first time. And showcasing all the new models/units for both the space marines and the Tyranids that there won’t be much else.  Except possibly some news about Henry Cavill and the movie.

Warhammerfest will probably also be the soft date where Space Marine 2 marketing will increase beyond the occasional 1-minute trailer, because I suspect that some of the new units will feature in the game.

It'll probably also be in Segmentum Pacificus for that triple marketing.

Rumours still insist that we'll see Epic here in some fashion.

I doubt we'll see anything about Old World as even the most optimistic of rumours say that there will be a battle box at years end, sneaking something WFB related into its anniversary year before a main release in 2024.

They've said that most game systems will get reveals of some fashion so for the likes of Underworld/Necromunda/Blood Bowl it may be new gangs etc etc. Kill Team is an awkward one as its too early to reveal the first box of the new season but they may give a tease? Warcry may get the new starter with underworld figures that was seen in the leaks but I don't know enough to fully go in on it

40k is the easy one as that's what we know already, starter box contents, maybe a tease of what's to come after launch, like a road map.

AoS will probs just be Cities of Sigmar (or whatever they're calling it)

Horus Hersey itself...we may get the plastic troop sets that everyone is wanting.

We usually get at least one big "specialist games" release during the Autumn so there's definitely a chance they could announce stuff for Blood Bowl (which is now 3 years out since 2nd Season Edition), Middle Earth, Necromunda etc. But even if "new" (or more appropriately, newly revived) properties like Epic or Old World are due for something this year I feel like they wouldn't announce either of those things until 40k10 is already out and raking in money. There's no way they risk people holding off on 10th because they know Old World is coming later in the year.

I wouldn’t expect ToW would be announced for this year or even early next year, but revealing some actual models as we’ve seen nothing beyond some art work. That way it hypes the community waiting on that, but doesn’t endanger 10th’s sales

They could certainly do something like that, true enough.

Hope so...I remember the bloke going on about "wait till you see what we've got for you, wait till you see what's next"

Well, what's next? (apart from another short trailer earlier this year)

The Old world is already (sort of) confirmed to be featured on warhammer fest in some form by GW themselves "Thanks again to the Warhammer: The Old World team! There’s plenty more to come from development diaries in the future – and you may just hear even more at Warhammer Fest, which kicks off on Saturday the 29th of April. " from this article https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/04/14/old-world-development-diary-on-bases-and-the-barons-of-bretonnia/

Wich I think will be it for the big specialist games stuff to be honest. I think hyping of Epic or BFG will come after 40ks release.. the only specialist game I could see would be a Spacehulk game as it would boost 10th edition hype. (but I think its unlikely)

Other possibilities;

Warcry Nightmare quest and Warcry Crypt of Blood, though they have already been leaked GW has yet to show them officially.. crypt of blood is a warcry minigame using old WHU warbands.

Ashes of Faith killteam rumored by valrak and featuring the Dark commune... I actually think this might be the killteam equivalent of Crypt of Blood. Though I wouldnt know what would oppose the dark commune though ( a single sprue from the SoB launchbox/patrol or Shadowspear/patrol marines perhaps.)

Its probably too early for the next killteam season.

We also have some old unresolved 40k rumor engines.. it would be interesting if the ending of AoO the Lion is actually a tease of a new Inquisitor game/box

Interestingly iirc valrak said the lion book mentions an inquisitor mobilizing the full force of the inquisition he has available to him.

10th edition: rulebook, box and of course miniatures. Space Marines and Tyranids. I think that would be the "big prize"

Ya, to build on this.

We will probably see a big image of the

Tyranid wave refresh

Marine updates (yes more)

We'll see a codex road map.

Imho

1. Marines (big shocker)

2. Nids

3. Votann

4. Guard/we

I think potentially the old world will have an announcement about out of production kits coming back and then maybe one new model from starter box factions shown off.

40k will absolutely be the marine and nid codex with post launch

30k I have a hunch that a new dorn model will be revealed along with a new battle box for siege of cthonia with some new infantry along with the outstanding special characters for the book.

Warcry will have its leaked sets actually shown off

Kill team will tease the next thing.

Aos serpahon to release July

10th to release June

30k content to release may

There will be demos of New 40k, so hopefully some starter set minis.

29th April reveal of the starter set, allow 1 month to build hype before a start of June preorder window (or mid-may to start June extended preorder window) then release 17/24th June.
