Noserenda
One of my group is considering running a single Marine superheavy alongside his Imperial army, and ive toyed with running one with my Sisters. As it still has to pick a legion anyway, which ones traits are good for tanks? If it helps id probably run a Typhon or Cerberus, i think they just want something odd in camouflage :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/378273-best-legion-for-lone-low-tanks/ Share on other sites
Solution SkimaskMohawk Posted April 12, 2023 Solution Share Posted April 12, 2023 Death guard are very good, as you can always move full distance and shoot everything; especially useful for tanks with Bombard and a short range (the Typhon). Ironwing from dark angels can be very helpful, as can iron warriors, though both need enemy vehicles. Ironwing probably have more impact of the two. Imperial fists if you have a lot of auto or bolt weapons. The rest is pretty much a choice between benefits to ramming and some sort of it will not die. Squark
The Typhon doesn't get much from Ironwing because the Typhon's main gun is a template, and I don't think +1 to hit vs vehicles would apply to the scatter roll. You would get to buff those sponson lascannons, though. Ironwing would help the Cerberus's main gun hit tanks on a 2+, though. Still probably not as good as Death Guard letting you move at cruising speed and fire all your guns at full BS.
