Warhead01
Hello, yet again. I'm struggling to be excited about the hobby and have taken about a 2 year pause. May have played one or two games but I honestly can't recall. The news of 10th has me a little bit excited and almost enough to get one one last game of 9th. But the reason for this post is to ask about the brand new units from that strike force box, the one with the new dread in it. How did that shake out? I have one bookmarked on Ebay I may buy if it looks like those will mesh well with my larger than expected Primaris BA's. Is any of that stuff any good I usually hate asking this kind of question but as I mentioned I am also trying to find some excitement for the hobby again. And one last question. Is three units of Outriders too many? Thanks in advance. Jolemai and Helias_Tancred 2 Back to top
Jolemai
Wb, and with regards to tenth, we don't really know what's what yet. As always, if you like the model, get it and paint it - you'll inevitably enjoy the game more playing with things you like. With 9th the Brutalis is nasty enough for us, but the trouble is delivery. This can be alleviated some way during the Arks of Omen season (which will last until the end of the edition) as you can place it into Strategic Reserves for free. Also in 9th, Outriders in a BA force need multipliers to function at their best for us. Three squads gives redundancy and as we can sit in Tactical Doctrine for longer in the current season, it helps with their output. I play Dreadnought lists and Bike lists because it's what I enjoy, not because it's "elite". You'll always need something else to supplement and support them to achieve your mission objectives, etc. Helias_Tancred and Warhead01 2 Back to top
happyslugger
I have two squads (one painted, one not) and plan to run them in 10th with my primaris chaplain on bike. Will they be the best? Is the Chaplain on bike going to be good? I don't know, but I love chaplain models, so I don't care lol Warhead01 1 Back to top
Helias_Tancred
The Brutalis Redemptor Dreadnought is definitely very thematic for us. It's on my up-to-date Blood Angel To-get list! But yeah delivery could be challenging. Honestly if I run one, I'd probably choose to run two just to help on spreading out my opponents fire and ensure they get to their objective. The missile primaris are classic IMO, just like Missile Devs have been for first born marines. They're on my list too. Given what I've seen, I have faith in the coming 10th edition. That being said I will get what I think is cool, it "fits" with us, and I'm motivated to paint. I'm willing to bet that they will be decent to good units in 10th edition. happyslugger and Warhead01 2 Back to top
Warhead01
Thank you all for the replies. I still haven't made up my mind yet. I can afford the box, sure no real problem. It's a reasonable deal for those units. I really only have a few more Primaris units to buy and I'll have them all I think, not that super heavy. It's not a huge list of things left to get, just need the motivation. Edited April 15, 2023 by Warhead01 Helias_Tancred 1 Back to top
Paladin777
To be honest, it might be worth holding off on any big purchases until 10th comes out. Not saying you shouldn't get a kit or two in the meantime though. that said, I doubt GW will let the minis that are going to be in the release box be clunkers.
