Looks like we get to see the new 40k stuff right away. Interesting HH is so late, but gives me hope it's something cool. Also confirming WTOW will be talked about.

Hoping for a Cthonia box set, worried nothing will drop for it before 40k 10e.

The article also straight up says they'll show off the box. Chances are they even have a "Beyond the box" article like the last time. As a reminder that's when they've shown the ATV, Servo Turret, Doomstalker, Lokhust Heavy Destroyers, and the novel Indomitus.

Quite surprised that there's a Kill Team reveal when the Gallowfall set hasn't even been released yet :huh:

It'll be good to see the full contents of the 10th release set. Not that I'll be buying that at launch, I'll probably end up getting the contents in the next Hachette 40k Partworks series they do :laugh:

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Gallowfall is next Saturday's pre-order precisely so it can be buyable before the next installment is revealed. Even if it isn't, it will have to be pretty soon simply because there isn't much else left waiting for a release to fill the weeks before 40K10E drops in presumably early-mid June

No Epic; or is it in the Sunday HH slot and is too small a scale to be seen?

If the BIG REVEAL is going to be Epic then putting it on the schedule would kinda give the game away

GW Contacted me and have given me a contact creator pass for the event, going to try and stream as much as it as possible so if anyone has any requests, let me know.

If they have painted Terminators/new stuff up for different chapters, it'd be nice to get a close look at the studio models if you get a chance.

Same with some armored dudes that aren't the topic of this forum, if they have those painted up.

Edit: It'd be a pretty nice goldmine if there's any Dark Angels successors in there, they very rarely paint up their equivalent of Deathwing or Ravenwing, and it'd be really valuable if they've done that.

Yeah, they can't just put Epic on the schedule if that's what they're doing :D

Kill team is interesting to see, we have 2 rumors there (both from valrak)

--- A box called Ashes of Faith that features the Dark commune
--- A box with Scouts vs Striking scorpions (likely both teams new, as I doubt it will be the existing spacemarine scouts.)

I think the latter might be the next season starting box (as it contains 2 new teams.) despite the Ashes of Faith rumor being older (but it contains an existing kit.) wich means the Ashes of Faith box would be a second box of the season or something standalone.. both cases are interesting to analyse.

Ashes of Faith is something Stand alone (the more likely one)

As I theorised before, Ashes of Faith could be a mini killteam game like the leaked Crypt of Blood for warcry (it contains 2 small repurposed WHU teams and small amount of terrain), with one side just being the 5 models of the dark commune. It could also be part of a stand alone Kill team Inquisiton "game" in a similar vein to kill team rogue trader, after all we still have the gland warrior rumor engines, and this could be part of a Dark commune style Inquisitor and retinue box. While that is different from Crypt of blood's total re-use of existing models, 40k doesnt have a WHU to take small teams from.

Ashes of Faith is the second box of the next season

This could indicate a change of approach to the kill teams as the dark commune is a set of solos, as opposed to an infantry kit. Instead of only one side being new, I could see a new approach where both sides consist of a 3-5 man "character set" and a (5man) infantry kit. Possibly with each side having a new and and old kit combined into a kill team ( old Dark commune + new mutants for example, or new Inquisitor Retinue plus old tempestus scions etc etc. )

This could actually also make some sense of the Striking scorpions (wich unlike ork kommandos cannot be changed into several different operatives, and are not associated with 10man squads.) so while the Striking scorpions would feature as the main dish on their side, they are complimented by several nonstriking scorpion solo-operatives.

I dont know if the box with spacemarine command models, the exodite rumors and the kill team rumors all come from the same source.. but in such an approach it could be;

Spacemarine command characters+Scouts vs Striking scorpions+"exodite" characters/retinue.

Ofcourse it could just as easily be none of the above. But even if the reveal will be a standalone game (wether its ashes of faith or not) I hope they at least tease next seasons setting.

I’d love to see the transfer sheet if they have it.

That's possible, but I certainly hope they don't go with "command characters", unless it's apprentice chaplains or apothecaries or something.

Another (more likely imo) option than "solo operatives" would be different fire team options like ones in the compendium - you could have a scout fireteam with an expansion on the new veterans, opposite a Striking scorpions fireteam with a dire avenger fireteam for example

Although, I could also imagine scorpion specialists

This is a very interesting idea, but I feel compelled to offer a couple of counter-points.

I could be mistaken, but I thought Kill Team is what introduced the varieties of Ork Kommando in the first place - there's no reason they couldn't give Striking Scorpions specialist roles.

Striking Scorpion operatives wouldn't need anything too fancy or drastic to differentiate them. Look at the Kroot team for example, one of the specialists is basically denoted by having a bionic leg. Sticking a knife or two on one Scorpion's belt to indicate a extra choppy guy, or giving one a crouching pose like he's studying footprints for a tracker/ambusher type would probably do it, for example, without changing up the classic Striking Scorpion loadout.

The Heirotek Circle only has 8 overatives, counting the little drones, so there's precedence for Kill Teams being less than 10-man squads. They could very well make the Striking Scorpions dangerous enough that we'd only need a five-man squad of them for a competitive Kill Team.

Or they could just as easily throw in a couple of their new warlocks with the Striking Scorpions and call it a day - which now that I think about it is actually kind of close to what you've suggested.

Either way, I'm definitely looking forward to more Aspect Warriors and more Kill Teams in general. If Striking Scorpions turn up as a Kill Team, no matter what route they take to make it happen, it's a big win as far as I'm concerned.

Its A Trap GIF - Its A Trap GIFs

The Inquisition just wants to know where/who Alpharius is..

Now, if you're going into the lion's den, I would be very interested which (if any) options the box set Terminators have (heavy flamer ?)

and if the standalone release of the termies will have additional options (lightning claws ?).

I would imagine that the book and couple of the resin things already previewed will drop pre-10th but realistically it's pretty clear that there's not much coming before 10th - given a few things have started to come back into stock I'd guess that the launch box is essentially locked in now and they are starting to catch up on the backlog.

Sorry to be the voice of doom and gloom but that just seems to be where we are right now!

Honestly, if you can.

Inquire if the command point req for forgeworld/hh2.0 equipment in 40k 10th is gone.
