World's slowest hobbyist question. My most recent spray undercoats are from May '21 (one Citadel, one Army Painter). I haven't had occasion to spray anything since that year, and I don't have a lot of experience with how these things age, since back in the day I'd use them up fast undercoating a ton of stuff at once.

Are these still good to go if I shake them enough, or do they go off if they sit on your shelf for 2 years? Should I be picking up a new one before I start undercoating?

At least 6 or 7 yrs, but not 15.....I've just discovered my Mournfang Brown spray quite chunky BUT I did buy it BEFORE this current paint range refresh....

Personally, I'd just try it on some spare sprue if you were in any way worried. I had a can of the old GW matte/satin varnish that was fine 10 years after it was purchased in the mid 1990's...

Also depending on where you've been storing them (a cold garage for example), it might be worth letting them soak in a warm water bath (comfortable hand temp - nozzles above the water) before you shake them, to let it warm through first.

Testing the rattlecans on something low value as others have said is definitely the best advice you can get. That being said, my anecdotal advice is that this week I used 3 rattlecans (1 Krylon, 2 unknown brand if it matters) that had been stored in a cool, dry closet since around ~2014 and they seemed to work just fine. I don't necessarily expect that to be the norm, so again, testing is definitely in your best interest!
